O the pain! Elastics! Dreadful headaches! Excruciating pain!

Went to the dentist last week. I hate cleanings. The tools I mean, the scaling, the metal going between your teeth makes me cringe. Plus my gums bleeded alot. Just for an hour of doing that. It costed me 156 bucks Canadian. Thank God for dental insurance, only had to pay 15.00 Canadian

I am still unhappy with my profile pics. And I believe theres still work to be done on my bite. It seems like nothings changed in the 10 weeks. I have my next appointment on Sept 3rd, who knows what will happen or what is to be done next. But there you have it, my pics plus some new random ones.

Adjustment?

Had my adjustment at 3:30 today. Typical. Got my wires cut, my powerchains taken off. Then ELASTICS. But no more powerchains, my gaps are closed!

I kind of figured I was getting elastics today. It says chimpanzee on the package. Im a little sore. But how can a tiny rubber band do that? Better yet how can it fix a bite, it seems so bizzare. He says in November is going to be looked into getting them off. But usually you would be thrilled.

But Im not, my left side is still horrible, it doesnt match my right side. Is this what the elastic supposed to achieve?

Im not sure they are coming off in November or its to decide when they will be taken off on my adjustment in November. Not sure. As of right now, Im not happy yet. What if the things I want achieved is not? Like my profile? and my bite to match the other side. But by looks?

I cant see how fixing my bite will give me a profile !

AMAZING!

change does seem tedious. I've had my upper arch braced for almost a month and I see almost no change. it's frustrating but I know it will happen.
as for changes in your profile, it might not change as much as you'd like, but who wouldn't change everything about themselves if they had the chance? I think you're gorgeous- and your smile is beautiful!

Hello, I am just reading your story and you have an amazing progress. Your teeth are looking good. I hear ya with the waiting one side to match the other ot get caught up. I have a bad crossbite and my left crossbite is gone and the right one is half way and its talking forever....I developed a "corner open bite" because of the teeth getting in the right position.

Those last pics of your smile are really cute. I play rock band with my son sometimes

I been noticing some changes! Especially on the right side. My next appointment is not till Novemember 5th. Its really hard now to book appointments cuz I can only do weds at 3:30 because of college.

The elastic is not too bad anymore, a couple of times I forgot to put it back in especially when Im done eating.

My bite touches on the left side but not on my right yet. I hope it wil lsoon. Well that's all I have to type for now.

96 Weeks



I am in great pain! Today marks 96 weeks. Just about 2 years with braces.

This appointment I got back the powerchains. That alone is an second I have elastics. The first round was on the left just the one. Now this one is a triangle for during the day. Then at night this pattern that you see on this pic right now. I feel like my mouth is stictched together.

I cant yawn or barely talk. I cant even open my mouth to even slip food in . Its like when you have jaw surgery and your wired shut type of feeling. I am in soooo much pain, I took 4 extra strength tyenol in 8 hours. I feel like my fac eis swolen but its not.

The first configuration of the elastic was easy. \but the second that so it extends to the back was tough. I thought of starting from the back first and wa la it worked. \im glad this config is only for the night. I now switched from a chimpanzee elastic to a lion one. The lion one is more stretchable but tougher.

oooo the pain and the head aches! I have this for 4 weeks. Then I go back and then I believe at my 2 years mark I will be brace freee!

These elastics and the powerchains is the finishing up stage. Its crunch time!

Braces arent too bad at all. No one looks at me funny or makes fun. But I guess becuase braces are the nrom. I see lots of ppl my age wit braces. Some hate it some love it. Im inbetween now. I am now anxious for them to be off.. really soon!
