Thats right some triangles cannot be fixed even with bonding because of the shape of your teeth, your gums, etc. Usually the ortho will slenderize between the teeth and then powerchain it to close as much as they can. See your dentist whether bonding can help in your case.so if I have a black triangle (due to some gum recession), I can't have bonding done?? do they do in on the inside side of the tooth or the outside (visible part) of the tooth?
ps. sorry, I'm dental illiterate too!

Recommended Dentist for Damon System
Hi there,
I am also in the UK and am looking to get Damon System braces. Can any of you guys recommend a orthodontist? I am finding it difficult to find one in London which offers Damon System at a reasonable price. Thanks!

Ok.. Two years on and things seem to have got worse! I still dont feel confident smiling, and my teeth seem to have become the same as the were before I had braces. I had a new retainer made, and have been wearing those ever since, around 14hours daily, but then my ortho refused any furthur treatment because he only had a one year policy, so im confused about what to do next, should i go back to getting braces? should I go for veneers? or should I just be content with what i have

Aah, it's too bad that your original orthodontist didn't give you any help back when this was first a problem! I'd register my disappointment in him on the reviewing websites. (Here, the popular ones are things like CitySearch.com and Judy's List. Dunno what the good ones might be for your area.)
Have you got any recent pics? I thought your first pictures, a year ago, looked like nice teeth in general, though perhaps not on the level of what you'd expect after having just spent a year and a large sum of money to get them perfect.
Do ortho's in the UK offer free consultations? It might be instructive to meet with a few, explain your situation and see what kind of solutions they'd advise.

i was told straight up by my ortho in the first consultation that he would only be able to take me 95% of the way for a perfect hollywood smile.
of course i asked why? he said that because my jaw is mis-aligned, nothing short of jaw surgery would get it perfect.
i told him no way i was having (or could afford) jaw surgery and with that, he said ok, well i'll do my best to get your teeth aligned with a crooked lower jaw.
so far so good, but i definitely realize they are going to be nowhere near what i would call 95% when I get them off next month. just the way the ball bounces.
and now, if i do elect to have jaw surgery later on, i'd have to get braces again, because right now my teeth are straighted for a crooked jaw, which means they'd be mis-aligned if i had a straight jaw already. oh well but hopefully i will look good enough.

Hey! Thanks for the replies - I hope all goes well for you michael.
Yes, My ortho only followed up from one year on, so I just ditched him, he wasnt much help and was just constantly reminding me of more money, which was very off putting. I did everything correctly after my braces came off, I wore the retainer like he had told me to, and have done ever since!
Then when I noticed a shift in my teeth, the retainer I had, one night, just stopped fitting, so it was evident my teeth had shifted during the day, when I went back to him, he told me he'd make me a new retainer and to wear them for around 14 hours a day/night, so I did, but they still kept moving, and then that retainer wasnt fitting correctly, and when I went back, he told me he would have to charge me for a new retainer.. £200..
At this point, i didnt understand as I told him that after treatment of the braces, he himself told me I have up to one year to come back if I have any problems, issues or toubles, and I did, but he wasnt much help.
So I ditched him in the end. Now Im still wearing those retainers, but my teeth have just got worse, It feels like I flushed almost £3000 down the drain!.
Here are some current pictures - precisely two years on from the first set of pictures.

They look worse when I smile looking down!

it's hard to tell whether that one front upper is pushed out more or whether the other one had some uneven wear to the front of it making it thinner and appear further back. Does one tooth seem thicker than the other? Also, i think some either shaping or bonding would help to fix the horizontal edge of your upper centrals.
