Splinting?

Splinting?

Hi there!

I still have my braces on but had a question about "splinting." I am going to get this splinting done after my braces are off in a few months - basically they splint your arches from behind the teeth with this ceramic strong stuff instead of retainers - so that the teeth stay straight WITHOUT retainers.

I'm wondering if anyone here has had it done. :)

The only reference I know to splinting is to splinting for TMJ, but I doubt that is the same thing. I think I will have this type down post braces.

Are you refering to permanent retainers on top and bottom?

Yes I want to get both top and bottom arches done. My orthodontist charges $750 per arch... :?
