57..........You are a youngster.....I have you by almost 10 years.......Wish I was 57.
In time you will wish as I do, that I did not do this sooner...but some things can
not be planned.

Re: braces on at 57
I just joined the "club" at almost 61. How is your journey going? My biggest issue is eating. Should I be trying to eat normal food or stick with the softer stuff like pasta? When my lower braces were put on in mid-March, they changed my bite. Some sort of molding compound was used to give me something to bite against and I can't get used to it. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I am the baby here at 53! I also have the bonded epoxy-like stuff on 2 molars to prevent my upper teeth from knocking off my lower brackets. Result is I have a lot of difficulty chewing my food! Only one point of contact with food.I hope the compound is removed once teeth begin moving more!

Dee17 here.
I was 54 years old when I got my braces about 18 months ago. Had those horrible right turbos and my molars as well which made Geeding very difficult. The best advice I can give to you I guess is to just eat soft pasta and scrambled eggs and anything that is soft. It took me forever before I was able to go back to eating regular normal food. I posted many times hope Tatian Mark have I told you how tired IM of eating pasta? Post "
Hang in there! You'll get used to things and it probably won't last more than about a month. Come back to this form as often as you can. This is a very encouraging and supportive. Will help her get through this.
