I know i really shouldn't be complaining. I only have to wear them for a total of about 12 months which is a lot shorter than a lot of people on this board. It's just hard sometimes to keep it all in perpective especially when the inside of your mouth feels like raw hamburger meat. Most of the time I am fine with it. But every now and then i get aggravated with the whole thing. I'm tired of the inside of my mouth being tender most of the time, Im'm tired of having to carefully choose what I can and can't eat based on how much of a bother it is going to be to clean up or the potential for embarrassment let alone the worry that I might damage my braces. But Like I said most days I am fine.

I jus read your braces story and wanted to comment! How awesome is your progress?!?! I hope mine show improvement as fast as yours have done. I was originally quoted 28-30 months in the braces... I would love for that to get shortened and I'm only on day 19! Ha!

5th adjustment this week. Things are progressing nicely. Had some more ipr, am now in 18 gauge stainless on upper and 18 nti? (not stainless heat activated) on lower. Working on 4 rotations this month. I might have to have a few brackets added since a couple of my molars shifted out of correct alignment- Ortho was hoping not to have that happen but alas alack and welladay it has.

Hope all is well with everyone else out there in braces land.

Signing off for now.

I know I have been gone a while, I've been busy living life. I just had another adjustment and have entered the elastics zone.- Time to correct the bite now that teeth are all straight. I can truthfully say that elastics suck!! I am supposed to wear mine 24/7 (with the exception that I can take them out to eat and brush). I usually do fairly well- I average taking them out for an hour each time, 3 times a day. Once I got used to them they weren't so bad- it's mostly the pain of having to take them out when I want to eat anything.

I hope every one is doing well.Take care all

Ortho told me that after my next adjustment/visit in february we can talk about when we are getting these bad boys off!!!

He's already started talking about retention!! Woo Hoo!! At my visit on monday the 16th we changed my ligs (to a festive green and red combination for the christmas holidays) Left my wires as they are and got released from elastics!!!! it's time to sit and wait for everything to settle in!! I am soooooooooo excited!
