Remember when I said I found out my insurance started covering adult ortho in Jan 2014? I had my ortho submit a claim and they denied it because my braces started in June 2013. I called them back and asked if they would cover some of it since I was in treatment for 7 months of this year....the ortho office suggested I do this. I was surprised yesterday to get a check for $418 from the insurance company. It had some other details that I thought I knew what it said in the letter but wanted to be sure of the wording. I called the insurance company again and she explained it. I will be getting $1,637 total!!!!!!!!!!!! They are paying for half of my braces! I was so excited!

Hi Anna! I am happy but will be even happier when I only have to wear my retainer at night. I go back to the Orthodontist in 3 days and see the dentist 2 hours after the ortho. This will be my first cleaning and checkup since having the braces off.

I had my retainer check yesterday and everything looks good. He said to gradually stop wearing it and come back in mid Jan. I needed more details then that so he said wear it full time for another month and then start not wearing it for chunks of time. Hour here and there then half day etc. Now that Im typing this I am wondering if that means to always sleep in it, which I had assumed or would that count as some of the time. He said when it feels tight putting it back in then to wear it a little more and slow down on the chunks of time.

Im still happy! We had dentist appts later in the day yesterday and they said my daughter probably wouldnt need lower braces and its only minor work on the top but her adult teeth arent all the way in yet. I will be scheduling her an ortho appt in the next 2 months.
I have no patience. I just want to get in and start this process. I may regret that once they say its time but thats how Im feeling now.
Hi. 31 years old/ 6 weeks til I get braced/ 1 of 3 options for me. Trying to avoid surgery. May need extractions. And 3rd option is forsus appliance to fix my 10mm overjet. Teeth not horribly crooked but jaw is very misaligned. I cant wait to fix my bite. Braces will straighten teeth but fixing overjet is another process. Anxious to talk w/ doctor and see which plan we will go with. Nervous scared &excited. Good luck to you
