Thanks Nicole!

Those are the teeth that were sticking out quite a bit and I think on the first or second day I saw a change. A lot of ppl have to me that. I am so happy to see that some changes are occuring! What I can not wait to see is when the gaps close up from the teeth I had to get extracted.

Kimmie!!!!!

How are you travelling?? Still good I hope! I can't believe it is almost 2 weeks since I was braced and you were upper braced!!

How are those extraction sites going?? Not long until you get fully braced now!!! And then it will be full steam ahead!

Don't know about your uppers but most of my teeth are feeling all wobbly and tender at the moment. And my good eating side is now getting nerve pain... Must be something good going on like more movement!!

Your teeth are looking great so far!

Hope you're having a great weekend!

CC!!

I am doing ok. I can really feel the soreness and tenderness in my top teeth that are wired all up. Well, my extraction sites are healing well, but every since I had them removed my brackets have been rubbing against my bottom lips and have shredded them to pieces. I did not have ANY problems until I had those two teeth removed. Who knew that removing teeth would cause these problems! :-= I am trying to avoid the wax as I want the inside of my lips to toughen up, but I don't know how much longer that will last. I have basically been avoiding food as everything burns that I put in my mouth besides water. :-+ It is starting to frustrate me bc I can not eat much, but I know the end result will be well worth it. I have been living off of apple sauce and pudding and I can already tell in my face I am loosing weight bc my face narrows when I drop off pounds. At work, I try not to go to lunch when other people go because seeing others eat and the smell of food just frustates me bc I can not consume anything without this burning sensation going on. Enough of me venting now. How are you coming along? Is eating getting any easier for you?

:-1 Kimmie! I can finally log in :jump: !! (been having lots of trouble :Questions: ???)

I'll sing you a song to cheer you up! :singing:

You sound like you're in the wars and having a bad time of it!!! :( I hope your lips toughen up soon!!! Who would have thought that those teeth that you had pulled were doing such a great job of protecting your lips?!? I feel so bad that you can't eat much when I'm starting to eat a little better (still not a great deal but more than you!!). I think you should definitely start using the wax (even if you just do it every second day or so just to help with a little healing and eating!).

Just remember, it will all be worth it in the end :) You can do it! And hopefully every day will get that little bit easier!! :) :)

Kimmie's beautiful smile is just around the corner!!

CC!!!

I am sorry to hear about you were having problems logging in!!! Well, today went a little better for me!! Thanks for the song also. Lol! So, I used some wax today and that didn't give me much relief. Even when my lip hit the wax it still burned. Maybe I went to long without using it, but the good news is I was abble to eat some fish and potatoes today with no problem. I think by the time this journey is over I am going to be so tired of fish and will not want it for a good 6 months. I did not know either that those two teeth were protecting my lips so much. Maybe it will get better when the wire goes on. The extraction sites are healing well. On one of the sites the stitch is sticking up a little so I think they must be starting to dissolve. My dentist told me they were going to dissolve in 7-10 days, but sometimes it happens before or after that time frame. Hopefully as these next days go by my lip will continue to heal and by the end of the week I will be able to eat a little more. I think these bottom spacers are also getting in my way of chewing. I can not wait until they come out on the 14th. I was thinking if my sites are doing well by the end of the week to maybe calling to see if I can get an appointment next week to have the bottom wires put on. They were mainly giving the sites time to heal before they did that and next week will be two weeks of healing!!

Hi All,

Wel, today is going pretty well for my mouth. I can actually put things in my mouth without it burning from the irritation the brackets have made so I think they must be healing!! :D So, hopefully by the weekend I will be able to try to eat more. Also this morning I noticed after brusing my teeth part of my stitch from my extraction site is sticking up and I think is trying to come out! The next thing I noticed was I am beginning to form a gap between my two front teeth. :GapToothed: I guess movement is being done because I can also see one on the top left forming, but I couldn't get my camera to focus enough for you all to see that one. Well, here is a pic of my newly forming gap.

Kimmie,

I love the teal ligs! You should get pink or purple when you get your bottoms on. Or maybe the same color but lighter would be cool.

I'm a little bummed out that I won't have ligs. I like the idea of experimenting with different colors. I'll have to live vicariously through you

I am in shock at how much movement you've had in just 2 weeks Kimmie!! They look fantastic!

Glad your mouth is healing up so you can eat little more! Even if it is fish!! But soon you will be able to eat even better soft foods! My fav so far is lasagne! I even managed to cook some garlic bread in the microwave to make it REALLY soft to go with it! YUM!

Sounds great that you might be able to move your appointment closer for your lowers! Just remember the pressure pain you had on your uppers and make sure you can handle that on top of what you are already feeling from the extractions! It sure will be great for you to get those spacers out!!

Have a great day Kimmie and take care!

@ Krystal I am sorry about you not being able to play with your lig colors! I will make sure to get a color you like bc you can not play with them.

@ CC I can not believe how much movement I am having either. It is like I wake up and see changes. I guess my teeth are trying to move into their new position and creating gaps while they do so! I am just glad there is movement being done. I am going to take your advice and just keep my appointment on the 14th just to allow the sites extra time to heal. Today I was able to eat some rice from the Chinese restaurant. It got a little messy. LOL! It was like rice was everywhere. I had to bring out the waterpik to make sure I got every piece out the braces because I didn't want anything left. So, for tomorrow I have took out FISH to cook to eat before I go to work tomorrow night. I already feel I am loosing weight and it is showing because I put on a pair of shorts today that I never had to wear a belt with and today I had to put on a belt. I can not wait to get my full appetite back again!! It will be soon though.

Yes more fish! I am going to look like a fish soon!!!! I do not want to deal with rice for awhile. I know that is one thing I will NOT want to eat when going out to a restaurant with co-workers or friends. I mean it was stuck everywhere!! It was soooooooooo good that I had to have some more so I ended up cleaning it up not one time but two times!! Maybe it was sooo good bc it was something other than FISH!!! :-* I now have 13 more days to go before more torture from the bottom bands and wires being put on!! At least I have some pain med left over from my extractions just in case I may need it.

Hi Kimmie, your teeth are progressing along nicely. As far as eating rice, if you don't have a waterpik, I would recommend one. They are great!! Being able to spray all the food particles from under your brackets and wires is wonderful.

Also, you'll be able to eat like normal pretty much after your teeth have stopped being tender and sensitive. So you'll just have to eat soft foods for a little while. It does get better. :)
