Your very welcome!! :) Yes! That would be so awesome :D Such a great start. Thank you 8)
They all seem very very nice and welcoming. Haha, yes, our teeth become very sensitive. Thanks I am feeling a bit better with the spacers, although the first few days I was cutting even soup up, because I was not willing to bite down on anything! It was awful, but the pain is definately getting better, thankfully! Aw well i'm going to have them on for a cool minute because teeth can be stubborn :-=
Haha, aweeeeeeeee sounds great!! :)

KIMMIE!!!

My thoughts are with you for tomorrow/Wednesday!!! Hope it goes amazingly well and that those sockets heal before you know it!!! And that your teeth allow you to have a decent meal the night before!!

All the best! And if it helps, picture your dentist naked - although maybe not considering they'll be a bit too close... :yuck:  (hopefully that will make you chuckle)

Hello All,

Well, tomorrow is another big day for me in the brace world! I am having both my 1st bicuspids removed! I am getting so nervous! I wish I could be put to sleep for this procedure, but I will only be getting numbed up. One reason I am scared is because I am having more than one tooth pulled and this has not happened sinced I had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled at one time in which I was put under. The second reason I am getting nervous is because a month ago I had a molar pulled and ended up with dry socket even though I did everything right! It is also crazy bc I guess I will be on a liquid diet for the next week or so as a tooth is coming from both sides of my lower arch and I will be scared to eat thinking something will be trapped in the extraction site as it is the lower arch as opposed to the upper arch. I wonder if they will give me the little syringe with the curved tip in which I received when I had my wisdom teeth removed to help removed particles from the site on the lower arch! I will update you all tomorrow on how it goes! Hopefully everything will go well. I will have my teddy bear there for support. Yes, I am 26 and will be taking my teddy for support. :-*

@ CC thanks for the flowers they are BEAUTIFUL!!!

I am back from having my 1st biscupids removed! My appointment was at 830am this morning and I left around 1030! I know you all are probably wondering what took so long. Well, here is the story. So, my ortho sent over my x-rays and a letter (well the assistant walked them over to the office) of what teeth to be removed last Thursday after I got my top wire and bands put on. My dentist wallks in this morning and was confused thinking it was my 2nd pre molars to be removed and I am like no it is the first bicuspids, but to call my ortho to get everything straight. Well, today is Wed and my ortho does not work at the office I go see him at on Wed, so they had to call his other office which is like 2 hours away to speak with him and luckily everything from both offices runs off of the same system so he could pull up my records and sure enough it was the 1st bicuspids to be removed. I am glad my dentist wanted to investigate and didn't just go extracting teeth. The thing that had my dentist puzzled was I had a bracket on the 1st bicuspid and he was like usually they take the bracket off of the tooth they want pulled, but mine still had it on it. The reason mine was on bc when I had my brackets placed my ortho was unsure at the time if I was going to have to get them extracted! So before they could extract my teeth they had to go find a bracket removal tool to remove the bracket before they pulled the teeth. I was sitting there in my head thinking why do they need to remove it if the tooth is being pulled, but the dental assisant was thinking what I was but she asked out loud before she went to find the bracket removal tool and the reason the bracket had to come off was because thte forceps used to help with the removal of the tooth would not fit with the bracket on. I was glad to know that. It didn't hurt at all for the bracket to come off so I got a little sneak preview off how it will feel about 2-2.5 years down the road when I am de banded! As, of now I still can not feel my lips for I am so numb. I have a small towel hooked to me bc I keep drooling like a little baby who is teething. Once everything got settled it didn't take long to get those two teeth out. He was like they are out and I was like really!! So then he stitched me up and had the secretary to call my antibiotic and pain med in. These two extractions together are no where near as bad as my molar I had done last month! To distract me I watched the whole movie The Three Stooges bc I was there so long, but did not mind being there the extra time if it meant getting the right teeth pulled and not the WRONG teeth. :GapToothed: I took a pain med I had left my my molar extraction before I left home so hopefully that will hold me off until the numbness go away because I can not drink anything now bc it seeps right back out my mouth!! I went and stocked up on pudding, jello, and applesauce!! Well, that is all for now. I will post some pics tomorrow of my new mouth!! No I am waiting on August 14 for the lower wire and bands to be put on!!

Hooray Kimmie!!!! Great to hear that all went well in the end and that they managed to pull the correct teeth!!!! It reminds me of a friend who went in to fix his ingrown toenail only to wake up and the wrong toe had been operated on!!?? (I don't know how they mixed that one up!!)

Anyway the main thing is that you are okay and so far so good!!! You get yourself plenty of rest!!! And I shall look forward to your new smile in the making when you put pics up!!

Hi Everyone,

So here are the pics I promised of my extraction sites! I am actually in no pain today, but will stick to the soft foods until at least Saturday! I am glad everything went well this time. Now to wait in on Aug 14 to get my bottom wired! Do you all think I should get an earlier appointment to get my lower wires on if my extraction site seems to heal well? The reason they were waiting until the 14th was to let my site heal and to make sure I was not sore or in any pain in which I am not. I have not even had to take a pain med since midnight. I'm just taking my antibiotics bc of course I have to finish those up.

I am enjoying all the soft foods, but it is like 2 hours later I am hungry again. LOL! I mangaged to eat eggs and pinto beans today. I am craving ice cream at the moment. I have never had this much ice cream in my life. Look at what braces are doing to me!!! The only thing I have noticed are my brackets on my teeth that were right next to my bicuspids on both sides have started to irritate my lip. I may have to pull out the WAX in which I have not had to use at all. I wonder why they started rubbing so much once both 1st bicuspids were removed. Maybe they were buddies and are mad that they are gone and are like we are about to start messing with Kimmie's lip now!! :-*

Glad you are mending well....... as promised here is the update on my dinner the other night

the rutabega, parsip and turnip mash was GREAT! I wound up making it just like mashed potatoes with milk, butter and salt and pepper. I used 2 turnips, 1 rutabega and 2 parsnips. One thing I will do different next time is boil the rutabega seperate, it wasn't quiet as tender as the turnips and parsnips so they didn't mash as well. However, over all it was great, and a bit sweeter than mashed potatoes. I let both the green bean and blackeyed peas cook down twice and simmer for about 30 minutes so they were nice and mushy too!

Really easy and soft..... tonight I managed to eat fried catfish but I had to pull it apart and eat small, small, small bites mushing it up on the roof of my mouth (good use for those pesky bite turbos of mine.... I discovered I can mash soft food like pasta and now catfish up against them with my tongue and they help to shred the food :-* )

Talk to you soon!
