Thanks for the compliments, I am very pleased with my progress.

I still do wear the bite plate nightly-it has been adjusted as it appeared it wa preventing my right canine from moving. My deep bite has been reduced a fair bit it may be also being used to try and stop my bruxing too.

Hoping you will also be debraced soon Jem.

I agree that they look amazing Jem! I can't imagine they could get much straighter. From the underneath, that one lateral does look ever so slightly off but I think it is probably just the shape of it. From the smile view, it looks perfect! A great smile in only a year! Lucky you!

Hey Jem!! I was out on vacation for 3 weeks and only now read your comment- oops! sorry about my thinking your were a girl <blush>
I knew a girl named Jem and incorrectly assumed...

All the best,

No problem, Lau and thanks for the compliment. This maybe picks up a theme in another thread that of the adults who have braces, there are many more women than men.

I hope you had a great vacation. Where did you go?

How are your braces doing?

Best wishes

Jem

Jem, you have such a great attitude. I'm impressed! I'm hoping you get a debanding date soon. I can't wait to see your final results!

Thank you Kip,

I think I am probably just about at my final position, although my ortho did say she would place a bigger wire at my next adjustment on 21 Jan. I will ask her to explain why we cannot seem to get my left lateral fully into place and whether we can't make a bit more progress with it before the finality that will come with debracing.

Having said that, I am more than ready to get rid of my brace. I'm sure you are too and happy to hear you are likely to get a debracing date soon. You must be nearly at 2 years now?

Best wishes

Jem

Hey Mr. Jem,
so my 3-week holiday was to Buenos Aires, Argentina to visit family. It was more like a visit, than actual time off because we stayed mostly indoor at relatives houses and ate till I gained 6 pounds! We did go to the zoo and parks just to get my high-energy 3-year-old outdoors but since its Summer it was super hot, averaging 40 Celsius the time we were there. Christmas felt like 50.6 degree (120+ Farenheit for US readers) Heat Index  so it was interesting.

Thanks for asking, my braces are still here  I need to edit and post my 15 month picture update, hopefully this weekend. Basically on Tuesday my ortho did some more IPR on the bottom (two sides) for my teeth to come in more. My bite is still too Class III to debrace. Supposedly it was going to happen as soon a super thin gap closed up, but it hasnt happened yet. He said probably due to my top/bottom teeth touching. Also I asked him for an estimate of when I will be done, but he denied to comment

Granted, my original estimate was 18 months but I am hoping that it happens sooner  I'm changing my elastics often, to see if that helps speed up.

Hope you had a great start of 20-13. The year can only get better for us with the nice big bright smiles we will have (at some point), right?

Hi jem, just replied to your latest comment in my story sorry it was so late.

I see your latest appointment was today or yesterday. How did it go? Did you manage to discuss anything about your lateral incisor with your ortho?

Hi BF2010,

Thank you for your interest. My appointment yesterday was postponed because of the snow. My ortho office had called last week to say they might have to call on Sunday evening to postpone Monday appointments and I decided I would definitely postpone anyway as I live some distance away. My appointment is now on 29 Jan.

Hi Jem, I hope you're nearly done. At least the snow should be gone next week - I think its going to get warmer / wetter at the weekend. Sounds like you'll get a debracing date soon!

It's slowly starting to melt around here so fingers crossed it's all clear by the 29th for you to go ahead with your next appointment. I look forward to seeing how you get on

Thank you Smilehope and Kip and thank you again BF2010.

Yes, I am ready to be done but I want to be happy that my teeth are as good as they can be. I seem to swing between being desperate to get my brace off and being determined to keep it until I am happy with the results.

You have all gone through much more than me. I appreciate your indulgence.
