Your gap is closing really well! You must be stoked Your teeth are loooking fantastic!
I hear you on the scary vs less scary decision. I'm facing an implant too (or perhaps a crown and bridge, although after hearing about my husband's crown experience I'm not so keen) or a denture (leaning towards because I'm a wimp and don't know if I can handle being awake while they give me an implant!).

Re: Here we go!
I also have two gaps left over from two extractions I had over the summer. When I'm all finished with my orthodontic treatment I am either going to have an implant or get a bridge for them. I'm not keen on getting implants mostly because of the expense involved. But as I understand it, an implant will last forever so it might be more cost effective to get that instead of a bridge which will only last about 10 years or so.

Re: Here we go!
Yeah, implants are definitely my preferred option in terms of being the best solution to the problem, I'm just scared of the process!
I don't really like the idea of bridges - why ruin decent teeth in the name of 'treatment'. And dentures are just yucky! So I think I have to just get on with the implants really (at least on top - the bottom ones would need a bone graft too).

Re: Here we go!
I decided to try the implant route for my upper baby teeth (nobody really sees my lowers anyway so I'm not sure it's worth going to the lengths of bone grafting). This also resulted in another discussion about moving my canines to where they should be (using mini screws, which I'm really not wild about!) & implanting the laterals. I think functionally I'd rather go this way so I guess I just have to get on with it.... I'd rather have the best result I can, but I hope this doesn't add too much time!
So this time the upper power chain is only on the central incisors, and I have a full power chain on the bottom. The spring thing in the middle at the back is to maintain the correct gap. I was a bit miffed I didn't get offered any colour choice but there are a few wire ties in there so I guess that's why. The diastema is closing nicely now - I can't even get my tongue in there sideways now

Great progress, those powerchains can close a midline diastema pretty quickly
