Hey guys,

So I promised to post some pictures a while ago but it completely slipped my mind and the novelty of my braces has worn off so… yeah… But, I come baring pics! Just a quick recap, I had my 3rd adjustment on the 10th of September and got new wires on both my top and bottom arches. I have stepped into rectangular wire territory on my top arch—feeling pretty darn cool about that 8)

Things have been pretty good since the last adjustment. I have a decent sized space between my bottom 2 central incisors which isn’t all that cute but I’m glad that things are moving on the bottom. My top teeth have moved quite a bit. Things on the top right (where I had my extraction) are still pretty gappy but I guess that’s what’s to be expected….. Don’t really know what else to say besides that I am thrilled with my progress and can’t wait till these gaps close up. Oddly enough though I am a little nervous about closing the gap because I know it’s going to change my face and I kinda like my face. I pray any changes that occur are for the better :-9

All right, picture time!

@betsybug, thank you for the kind words  My bite isn't bad at all but it still doesn't feel right. How are things going with your teeth? I don't know if you've mentioned it but what is on the horizon for your baby bicuspid?

I'm doing a specialist in psychology with a minor in biology and it is exhausting! I cannot wait to be done.

Ah the babytooth.... well it's going to hang in there until it decides not to I guess. The rest of the teeth are moving around it. At least it isn't feeling loose or anything. I suppose that I will just keep it as healthy as I can. If it does have problems or get loose I think I'm looking at an implant to fill the gap but so far so good :)

psych and biology (me too!!!) but mine is with education as well. I know how tough it is to be in school try not to let it get to you. (of course I say that but I was on the verge of a nervous break down last night - I'm better today ;) )

You can definitely see where your uppers have room to come around and line up with the gap closing, but I don't think it will change your face too much. I'm sure you will look lovely :)

I agree. My uppers are still slightly flared so there is definitely room for improvement. I guess it's just the uncertainty of not knowing what I'm going to look like after this is all said and done, but I'm sure (at least I hope) that I will be more than satisfied with my results.

You're doing psych and bio as well? That's soo cool! I'm supposed to be graduating this coming June but I'm not sure, I may require another semester...that's what happens when you fart around during your first two years lol. I have no idea what I'm going to do after graduation but I don't think I'm patient enough to teach:s when will you be done with school?

I actually am working on my second degree my first was in bio/environmental and now I'm going back for a second bs degree in biology/secondary ed with a minor in psych. The school I am going to has a very comprehensive program for your internship teaching so for sure another three semesters. Cellular/molecular bio is kicking my behind this semester my other classes aren't too bad. I'm really not in a huge hurry to get done because right now I have a pretty good paying job (actually i'm making more money then if I was teaching...go figure :)) I wouldn't be minoring in psych but with the abundance of educational psych out there I decided I may as well.

3 days till the 4th adjustment! I wonder what's awaiting me... Hopefully a powerchain because I am growing a little tired of these gaps. My bottom braces have been shredding up the inside of my mouth the past few weeks, I don't kno why! maybe thigns are moving but they are ripped worse than they were when I got the braced! Anyways, I'm really looking forward to new ligs  my light blue lowers have turned into a grass green colour lol...I'm not loving it. I need a combo with pink this time! I loove pink but I have yet to try it. Maybe silver and pink or maybe black... I shall let you know!

Looking good Gilly :-)

I have my 4th adjustment next Monday. Diastema should have closed by then but it still hasn't and doubt it would have done by then :-( Am hoping for double powerchain just across those 2 front teeth

Thanks Angel269 and Chaotic!

So, I'm back from my 4th adjustment and... I got a POWERCHAIN!!!! I don't know why I get so excited about new gear lol. I guess it's just knowing that with every new piece of equipment I'm one step closer tomy perfect smile:)

The appointment started with a bite check at which point doc noted that things have straightened out a lot over the past 6 weeks...yes! He then proceeded to say that the bottoms are looking good minus one tooth so he took the bracket off and repositioned it (well I think he did, either that or he gave me a new bracket altogether). He warned that I might feel some pressure As he clipped it off but it was fine--no pain or discomfort whatsoever. Then he sanded off the excess glue and reapplied the bracket. Kept me in the same wire and then threw on the ligs, some of which he placed in the figure 8 configuration, I guess to add more tension on the wire. I chose silver.

Then, onto the top. He told me he was going to start "tightening" the wire to close the gap which I assumed meant he was going to bend the wire but nope it meant a chain--a hot pink chain! My wire was also changed so I'm now in my second rectangular wire. I see pain in my future...

All in all a great appointment:) I go back on five weeks for my 5th adjustment. Can't wait to see what happens then;)

*will post some pics in the next few days... I can already see changes

I'm sure your pink power chain looks awesome :)
I get nervous before each adjustment because I don't know what is coming next (what new torture device I may get this time) I guess its just because I am excited to see new changes with the new devices. :)

Can't wait to see your pink ligs :)
