Hi

I haven't been posting much and I apologize. I check the site pretty frequently but often don't bother signing in to comment.

I had an appointment this past week and was told that I am in the "fine tuning stage"... pretty trippy as I still feel like I just got these things put on and I have to admit I will miss them. I've gotten to the point where they're just a part of my face and I can't really imagine life without them but it seems that time is fast approaching. I will post pictures as soon as I can.

I hope you're all doing well.

Gilly,
I know it must be great to hear those words that you are in your final stages. It seems like yesterday we had our braces put on!!! I think I have a ways to go as my ortho is just starting to close my molar extraction sites on my top arch!! I can not wait to see updated pics as your last ones looked great!!!

Hey Gilly!!!

Welcome to the final stages!! I didn't think it would be too far away for you!! I'm not ready to part with my braces either! But then I'm thinking that getting permanent retainers will have to be my new "braces" to wean me off them - especially seeing that I will have to learn to floss differently again!! Are you getting a permanent retainer or removable?

I don't know what I'll do without having an ortho appointment to go to! Do you look forward to your appointments as much as I do or am I just strange?? lol!!!

Can't wait to see your latest photos!!

I have seriously been neglecting my story...woops!

Quick update: I am supposed to be getting these braces of on February 12th. Not happening. My two font teeth aren't straight and my bite on the right side isn't great. I will be calling the office first thing Monday morning to let them know I am not entirely comfortable getting debanded just yet.
Also, I am supposed to have all 4 wisdom teeth pulled this coming Friday! Gahhh!!! I'm so scared! I turn 25 on February 14th and my health and dental insurance under my moms policy will terminate so I am trying to squeeze in any and everything possible...without her insurance, this procedure would cost me $1800.

I'm pretty sure I'll be out of braces by Spring. I am kind of excited! But I want to get as close to perfect as possible.

I hope you have all been well. I will post recent pictures ASAP!

Hey guys (...if anyone's there),

So I made an emergency pit stop to the ortho today as I was scheduled to get my braces off on feb. 26th and was having severe anxiety as a result. I also had a pokey wire which was my "reason" for having to come in abruptly today  Anyways I told my doc my concerns and he took a much closer look than usual and put a couple bends in my wires and VOILA! The teeth have come right into line.
Moral of the story, if you have ANY hesitation whatsoever about getting your braces off, tell your ortho! They are professionals and know their craft, but WE are the ones looking at and scrutinizing every detail of our teeth on a daily basis.

So I shall be back on March 4th for a regular check-up appointment at which point we will re-evaluate and take it from there. I feel soo much better, like a weight has been lifted. Yippee :D

I will post pictures next week.

Hope you're all well!
