Hi Everyone!
I just got my braces put on today after spending a month waiting from my initial two visits to the orthodontist. The estimated time was 9-12 months.
I have Damon-3 brackets on the top 8 and lower 8 front teeth... so this leaves my rear molars free for chewing.
The appointment overall was fairly quick. I didn't notice the bad taste of all the chemicals, probably cause I tried not to swallow and breathe through my nose rather than my mouth.

So far it's been about 2 hours and no pain yet. We'll see how that comes along tomorrow morning.
Later!

Thanks ThatsMrsGeek2U. I found this forum especially useful in deciding whether to get them or not.
I'm not going to put daily updates here, otherwise this would be a really really long post. But I just wanted to chime in and say that the brackets on my canines are irritating the inside of my mouth.

And I have no wax with me!!!
I could only get through half of my lunch at the Pita Inn because of it, and my teeth are a little sore, but that doesn't bother me at all. Especially since my molars weren't braced. It's almost like a "I-know-my-teeth-are-shifting-so-I-enjoy-the-feeling" kind of soreness. hehe
Later!

Thanks... I had tried the Crest Whitestrips last year but didn't think there was a change. Then after using a hydrofloss with a little peroxide in the water, I starting noticing a difference.
Anyways, the flash might be making them look whiter than they are. It all depends on the light. hehehe

Wow... had my wires changed yesterday as part of the plan for the Damon-3 brackets.
Nothing bad, but I can definitely feel my teeth being a bit sore. But it feels sorta good in a way.
My bottom front tooth that was initally pushed back is now almost completely aligned with the others.
I'll have to post pics tonight. I'm impressed on how much my teeth have shifted since April 20th when I had the braces put on.
I'll post some pics tonight so you guys can see.

Okay, so here are the pics. I went for my first wire change on May 31st. Had my braces put on April 20th. I can really see a difference, especially with the bottom front tooth. It's been pulled almost parallel to the other teeth. I'm liking the results so far
The appoinment was fairly quick (20 minutes). This time they put a rectangular wire in (I forgot to ask what type/gauge/etc.). They couldn't get the whichever wire they had initially planned to put on the bottom, so they had to step down to another wire size. That one tooth I was talking about wasn't quite lined up at the appointment, and I think they had trouble getting the door close.
Next appointment is in 6 months.
