Bracket Removal

#1 Post by deborah »

It's not for a few months yet but I am really worried over having the brackets and bands removed when the treatment is finished.
Does the cemennt really not do any damage to your enamel after a couple of years?? I am worried that the enamel may crack under the strain of removal. Am I worrying over nothing?

Hi Deborah,

I still have a ways to go before getting my braces off but both my kids had braces for almost two years and their teeth were just fine. The removal process was super quick, only a matter of seconds for the brackets, so there was not a lot of strain involved.
The glue takes a little longer to buff off but is also gentle on the teeth.
