Laineyloo's Brace Story (2 month pics)

Hi all,
I got my top braces on yesterday. I have been reading a lot of the posts on this site for a few weeks now and it really prepared me for it. So thanks to everyone who is taking the time to share their experiences. I don't know anyone else with braces so it's great to be able to log in and share the good and the bad
So far though I have to say it has been a pretty good experience, even though it has been less than 24 hours
I was expecting them to feel much bigger in my mouth but they're not too bad at all. I thought I would want to hide away for a few days until I got used to them but I went to the shops straight after getting them on and found myself grinning at the shop assistants
I didn't have to get much work done before hand. I was lucky enough that I only had to get one pre molar taken out.
I went for all metal because it was my orthos reccomendation and I picked lavender ligs. My first adjustment is in 8 weeks and I will get my bottom braces on then.
I only started thinking about braces in the last six months. I didn't like my teeth but it didn't cross my mind to actually do something about it until I went to a new dentist and they mentioned it to me. I was thinking that at 30 it was too late to sort it out. Thankfully I was wrong!
All in all I'm glad to have started my journey .... I'm excited to see my teeth straighten out. I will post some pics later.
Jenny101101 - I had read your story before I went to get the top braces on and I too was sitting in a waiting room full of teenagers ... so I got a giggle out of that
