I am 53 years old and I have been in braces since March 2006 when I got them on the top. I got my bottoms on several months ago.
I must admit, that my face fell when I asked my orthodontist if I was going to be finished in 24 months as planned, and he said no. Even though my treatment has to go slow because of bone thinness in my upper jaw, it was not what I wanted to hear. The thing that keeps you going through this journey is the realization that it will be over at a set time. Now everytime I look at my mouth, I feel like this is never going to end. My mouth is funtionally better, but right now I look like a jack-o-lantern all the time.
I just needed to feel sorry for myself for a moment.
If anyone feels the same, please let me know that I am not alone.
DISAPPOINTED THAT TREATMENT IS GOING TO BE LONGER T
