I believe you have made tremendous progress! Your teeth look really good!!! And straight teeth look bigger for some reason.

Hi Ellie I Just caught up on your story and your teeth are looking great! I feel for you having just had an adjustment, but from my experience my adjustments seems to leave my teeth feeling less uncomfortable each time. I just had .. i think it was my 4th... adjustment and my teeth are a little tender but nothing like my first few! So hopefully yours will be the same and the worst is over! :)

Keep your chin up and keep smiling and think of the beautiful smile you are going to have!!

Thanks ilovemacs for the hug! feeling much better now!!

Spanner thanks for your nice words, it does make you feel better when everyone notices your changes. I did see loads of change in the first 6 weeks, but all going a bit slow now and bottom braces are just really bugging me!!! So many ulcers!!

AmybettyB thanks for stopping by and reading, i posted loads of pictures because when i first came on here i was picture mad and amazed at how teeth change so quickly, just a shame the movement slows down! But nevermind! :)

Im feeling much better, still sore and finding chewing a task still... :? :?
Wondering if i will ever be able to chew again!!! Top braces really didnt make much of a difference in anything, no pain, chewing was ok about 2 days after. But bottom ones too are bit of a nightmare!!! But on the positive side i have lost quite a bit of weight!!!

Take care all.x

Hi Ellie, found your story hehe

Just spent 30 mins reading from page 1 to 7, im truely impressed by firstly your attitude throughout and secondly the progress youve made is astounding.

We are about the same age, having a similar backstory and similar motivations for doing what we are doing.

I can only dream of the support youve had and the results youve had thus far. I can only wish the best for you and your teeth and will bookmark your story so can pop in and out.

I would love for you to keep an eye on mine when you get chance and pick me up when i go through the inevitable down patches.

Im still very positive and looking forward to my bday (11th march) cant wait.

Thanks for making the first step and posting on my story they are appreciated more than you know.

Big hug

M :D

Hiya mate

Well done for finding my thread and well done for reading it!!! It will be good to look back on once im all done!

Do you have good support Martin? My friends and family have all been great.... i did try and get my parents to pay for my treatment, I made a remark that it was not my fault i had dodgy teeth.... but they didnt really fall for that. Paid my first big installment, which was really nice of them. As i was joking about that first bit, but i do have a strange sense of humour. Sorry... :)

Will definately keep an eye on your story.. get lots of picture up, as i love pictures! Can you tell by my thread???

Hiya Ellie,

Sat morning is here, and im hangover free, (not drinking coz of the antibiotics issued by the dentist) thems the rules :(

going out tonight as well, grr.

I do have good support, initially i only told my mum i was doing it, she then told my gran who handed over 200 quid just before xmas, (80 years old living alone) which was really touching, then when my mum found out how much my extractions were as well she didnt hesitate to put money directly into my bank, not paying for it all but token kindness is what its all about.
I have an understanding misses to, not married but living together, similar setup to you i guess.

I intend to keep a good record of all my ortho trips, he keeps a folder in his reception with other stories in it, i think theres a gift voucher in it if i submit mine, which will litterally be a print out of "my story" hehe, always thinking ahead :P

Im trying to find you on facebook but its hard without an email addy or surname, apparently theres millions of Ellies in the UK.

OK, right gotta pop off need a HDMI cable for ma Spam spam spam tra la la....spam spam spam! hehe, spk later

Big Hug

M

Oh good, glad you have support mate. An understanding partner is a must i think! Darren is really good and says that he doesnt even notice my brace, he reckons when i get it taken off i will have to remind him as he probably wont notice. Typical man, pays no interest!!!!

Hiya chick, Just thought i would check in on you :D

I hope the ulcers have calmed down abit now.

I know what you mean about having an understanding partner, Martyn said he didnt think i needed treatment but has supported me all the way. Although he does occasionally call me Ugly Betty and brace face (the cheeky git) but i know he is only playing with me, he knows how much i love Ugly Betty.

Hope evrything is going well and have a great weekend hon

Hi Hannah

Ulcers are a bit better now, its the wire on the lower front that is bugging my lips.... only way to stop it hurting is by sticking some kind of food down there.... like an orange segment or bit of gum! Not advised nor attractive!!!

Darren did once call me 'Ugly Betty' but i gave him the look and he knew not to say it again!! He was kidding, but my look was enough to stop him repeating it!!
Guys at work call me 'robochops' and i have a toy cow on my desk that they made a brace for the day after i got my uppers fitted! They also printed off the road sign 'Mind the Gap' after my extractions too... nice lot!! But i have kept all of them, i will de-brace my cow when my time is up and the sign i have up on my desk wall!

You have to laugh, plus i do find it funny. I rip them as much as they rip me!

Hope your first adjustment went ok honey, i shall check in on your story to view your pics once they are up.

Hi all :-1

Well i booked in today with my dentist, got an appointment for tomorrow which i thought was quite good!!! He advised me to go see him every 4 months while i have braces on.... did anyone else get told that too?

Hoping everything is ok.... Fingers crossed!!! Its just a check up so hopefully wont be that expensive!

Pain is going away now, found a way to get the wax to cover the wire that bugs me
Some of my lower teeth ache a little, and there is some movement. I would post some pictures but you cant see my lowers unless i pull my lip right down and the photos look awful!!!
Tops dont seem to be doing much! Still got my gaps that look horid!!! :GapToothed:

Hope you are all well and your teeth are getting there!!

Dentist went well! Although my normal dentist quit and saw someone else today and i was warey as they obviously dont know me etc :? ... like when you go to the doctors to sit and wait for an available one, i dont like that.... they dont know me!!

Anyway, she was lovely.. Checked my teeth and said all was ok, then took some xrays just to check and then i had the scale and polish  ... i find that can really hurt sometimes! I had tears in my eyes (and water running all down my cheek where the sucky-thing wasn't do its job properly!! )
Teeth are feeling lovely and clean... All for free too at my dentist, such a lucky girl!

Anyway, I shall take some photos soon.... need Lisa65 to advise how she gets her photos so close and clear!!!!

Take care x

Ellie, I have the unfair advantage of a husband who's mad on photography and has a cupboard full of Canon lenses to prove it

Looking forward to seeing pics of your newly cleaned and sparkling gnashers.
