Wow, MN, your teeth are looking fantastic! You could take a ruler and the archwire would line up to it all the way across. What a difference from your "before" pics! You must be ecstatic
Thanks everyone!
I keep telling myself that even if my treatment ended right now and I had a few gaps I would be 100 times happier with my smile than I was before!
I don't think about it when I laugh now...before I would cut my laughing short and not laugh as big just to hide my teeth. Having the metal in my mouth is a lot less embarrassing than my crooked teeth were!
09/11/07~Another adjustment. I had a new hygienist today. She's middle-aged so I'm not sure if she just got out of school or not, but she really didn't know what she was doing. She kept going to the room next door to ask that hygienist questions. Oh well...I guess everyone has a learning curve. She didn't hurt me, she just took a lot longer than I'm used to.
Nothing changed in my wire/chain config. I just got new colors! I'm really bored with the chain selection and wish I was in single ligs again! My gaps are almost all the way closed so it shouldn't be long now!!!
10/09/07~ Had another adjustment this morning. Same hygienist as last time...this time she did hurt me! I haven't needed to take any Aleve before my appointments for a long time, but I wish I had today! It felt like she was going to push my teeth right out of my mouth! But there was good news from today...my lowers will be coming off SOON! Possibly even next month!!!! Wooohooo! I'm in complete shock and disbelief! I guess we will wait until next month and find out if it's really true!!
Oh, I almost forgot another exciting thing from today...I have single ligs again! Yipppeee!
Here are the pics...not much change from last month, but I love comparing the new pic with the old pic!
11/13/17~ OMG!!! I'm bottomless!! Wow, what a strange feeling!!!
I have to go in tomorrow to pick up, what they call, a clear shell. It looks like an invisalign thingy. I will wear that until they can get me in for a fixed retainer. I still have a very small gap on the bottom that my ortho said can't be fixed while I have the molar bands on, so that's why he is doing a fixed retainer. He also said we will start working on my midlines now. That was great to hear! I was beginning to wonder if my midlines would always be this far off! This was quite a productive adjustment!! He put some bends in my upper archwire too. The removal of my lowers was so quick and painless! I really thought there would be more discomfort than that!
I'm still in shock that my bottoms are gone!! After my appt. I had to travel for work and it was kinda dangerous....I couldn't stop looking at my teeth in the mirror!!
I saw a new color today too! Baby blue! I wonder why I never noticed that they had that color before!? I paired it with silver. Anyway on to the pics!!!
Linda21~ I think you are right about it being an Essix type. Sorry, I don't know the "technical" terms for things.
I don't know how he plans to shift things with my bottoms debanded. Before he removed them I voiced that as one of my concerns and he said all the shifting needs to be done on top. I really don't know any more than that...he is a man of few words. I'm not too worried...I've seen results from some of his other patients and things came out good in the end.
01/02/08~Another adjustment on my uppers and a fixed retainer placed on my lowers. I'm not too thrilled about the fixed retainer, but I suppose I'll get use to it. I'm really concerned about keeping my teeth clean and healthy in that area.
My upper wire was being stubborn and it felt like the hygienist was going to push my molar out of my mouth! Sheesh!
Anyway...Happy New Year to all my fellow braces-wearers!
Hey! I haven't checked in for a while, but I have exciting news!!!!!
07/15/08~ After 26 months I am finally brace free!!!!!! Wooohooo!!!
It feels so strange! I am so happy with the results!
Not much more to say other than WOOHOOO!!!
