Well...I just finished reading all 20 pages of your story...plus the before braces story as well.
It's so exciting seeing all your progress. Your teeth are going to look so awesome when it's all finished. I bet you can't wait til your next adjustment when those laterals finally get brackets.
Here's to November! It's not too far away.

My cousin had braces 3 times to camoflauge her underbite and twice she didn't wear her retainers, which is why she needed the 3rd time. But not once did she ever say it was a waste of money. When I asked her about getting braces, she said "Do it! It is going to be worth it in the end, just make sure you wear your retainers." Coming from my cousin who can't stand any metal silverware to eat with and she had metal braces 2 times for a total of 6 years, telling me it was all worth it. I highly doubt this is a waste of money.

I think that there is a lot of pressure on those little elastics to bring the tooth forward. I had a lower lateral that needed to be brought forward a lot. My ortho put a wire tie on and then on a following appointment he replaced the wire tie with a smaller wire tie to bring it forward then eventually it was put onto the wire. Maybe a wire tie might be better?

blimey Stace, no wonder you were crying! Sorry you had to see the not-very-helpful ortho again. I guess maybe your dentist will be able to do something about that chipped tooth. Has a big piece come off? Let's hope that the new tie will stay on and not snap off this time.
BTW chocolate is a very good no-chew item, as it can be sucked and it's also very comforting.
I hope you feel better today

Yay Stace, that's great, I predict lots and lots of movement in those laterals in the next few weeks and at least with the wire ties you won't have any snapping! Hope they're not too sensitive in the coming days but hopefully, if they are, then they'll have settled down in time for Christmas.
Regards
Joney
