They look great! Thanks for posting pics. It's so encouraging to those of us still waiting to begin...July 24 for me. And that's too cute about your baby wanting to touch them. My son is 21 months old and I know he's going to do the same thing. Keep us posted on how you are doing with getting used to them.

Thank you for the compliments, everyone. I am getting used to them slowly lol.
Well, I slept in wax last night lol. My teeth actually feel much better right now. Hopefully the worst was yesterday. But i know it is suppose to get worse before it gets better. I went ahead and took some ibuprofin anyway just in case though.
So I thought that someone might be interested in knowing the process so here it is:
What they did was 1. fit the molar bands to find the right size 2. "sand" my teeth with some pumice dust stuff, i rinsed, she dried them. 3. glue in the molar bands- they went on the second to last molar instead of the last like I was expecting. 4. brush my teeth with the glue. 5. the ortho came in and the assistant placed the bracket, the ortho positioned it and the other assistant cured it a bit. They did the same thing for each tooth of course. Then came the long part. She had to let the curing light set on each individual bracket for so many seconds- something like 20-30 i think. Seemed like it took forever. Then we had to wait for the ortho to come back to say what size wire. After that she clipped the wire, set it in, and tied it in with more wire. Then came the ligatures. Ane then I was done!

i wonder if they have flavored wax?!?!

Did they try to talk to you while you had the big plastic mouth-holding-open thing in? Mine kept asking me questions and I did my best to say, "If I could talk, I'd tell you," which came out more like, "Aaahhhggg ggahhagghh ahghgha hghg gah."
Do you think dentists and orthodontists do that for their own amusement?

I was out of town so HAPPY BELATED BRACE DAY! You look absolutely fabulous in those things and you are going to look even better when they're off!
Congrats on getting it done Skye!

Hey guys! I have great news to share with you all! It's not really braces related though. LOL. My hubby FINALLY called yesterday and we have a tentative date for his R&R!! It's earlier than I was expecting which is great really b/c it is in time for both of our younger boys' birthdays'! They are only 2 years and 1 week apart. So that is my excellent news of the day.
So on to the braces update: Day 2 1/2
- Still sensitive to pressure and a little uncomfortable on some of the teeth but I haven't taken anything today. I have a sore on the lower R cheek from the buccal tube/hook on the molar band so I keep wax on that. And the wire on the lower L side is poking a bit so that also has wax on it. Along with the 2 top front hooks and the one beside it on the R side b/c it is irritating my lips everytime it slides over the bracket. So yeah.. I'm all waxed up now.
AND... I think my eyes are playing tricks on me b/c I swear my front tooth has moved just a tiiiiiiiiiny bit! Yeah... like I could see movement this early. Maybe you guys can talk some sense into me It is the front tooth with the light purple on it.
DAY 1:

TODAY:

So I'm seeing things, right? Just wishful thinking?

Lol!! Omgosh Denise... you totally caught me! I think I've stared at my teeth more today than in the last 24 years of my life!
I've been looking at EVERYTHING about that tooth. The little angle between the 2 front ones, the angle at the bottom of that one and the one on the opposit side... What I'm doing is going nutso over here.
But the reason why I'm so worried about that one is b/c it's the one that they said could be Anklosed (not able to move for those who don't know what that means.
). They are giving it to my 1st adjustment to move or they are going to yank it out!
So that little sucker better get on ball. LOL. I've been staring at it wondering if I'm going crazy b/c it looks straighter to me.
