I got my tongue scraper at Walmart. But I believe that most drug stores have them.

I found one similar to the one I have on this site:
http://www.drugstore.com/qxp44438_33318 ... craper.htm

I had a really good day today! The inside of my cheeks aren't getting all cut up anymore! I guess I am finally getting use to the cleats on the molar brackets.

Yeah!! Two weeks went by fast.... It may seem dorky to celebrate the small accomplishments but why not toot your own horn. I brag all the time about how blessed I am with my progress.

BTW, I haven't been known for using a tongue scraper, but since so many people are now looking into my mouth I might as well make sure everything is clean. :wink: :-}

Good luck with your journey!

27 days till my adjustment! 21 May! I am excited that time is going by this quickly! I only need to wear them for 18 months anyway so the fact that this much time has gone by this fast gives me hope!

Happy 2.5 week anniversary, Bekah! It's amazing how quickly time goes by! That's great that you haven't needed any wax, but always keep it around, just incase.

Have a great day!

Hi Bekah.
Thanks for your input about my black powerchain and ceramics. The chain sure do a good job. Your metal brackets looks good too.

I noticed that your ortho was thinking of pulling teeth. Please consider that opion carefully. My ortho suggested me to pull two teeth in order to make my overbite smaller. I didn't like that idea at all so I declined the offer. After 12 month he told me that it was wise of me not to going through with extractions as the teeth for sure would have tilted to much inwards.
I will never have a perfect bite but with elastics the overbite as decreased a lot. Still working on it :D

Glad things are going great for you. It is very exciting when you don't have to wear wax. Take it off before every meal, put it back on when your done cleaning. Have you noticed any movement yet?

Oh my I haven't posted in a long time! I have had them on for over a month now.

tjstrout- I have noticed some slight movements!

I had my teeth cleaned today and it went okay. I was amazed at how much pressure they put on your teeth with that little hook they have! The flossing was uncomfortable because she wasn't as gentle as my normal hygenist. I found out that I have a very small cavity but it isn't around my bracket thank goodness! I am going to check because I think it is in one of the teeth that the ortho wants to pull anyway. My dentist brought it to my attention that my braces are changing the shape of my face. It is a good thing though because I didn't have what you would call a "stong" chin anyway. I don't have as many chins now!

I go for my first adjustment on the 21st. I will post again soon. I will post new pictures after my adjustment!

Bekah,

Thank you so much for all of your kind words. To be honest with you I really was not going to go through with the process of getting my braces done, but after reading so many stories on here with ADULTS getting it done that really pushed me a lil!!!!

Thank you so much!!!!!!!!

Well I went to my first adjustment today and all I can say is OMG I didn't know how much pressure those little wire ties would put on my teeth!!!

They are trying to pull my bottom wonky tooth forward! He knew he was hurting me and kept telling me he was sorry! Talk about them feeling tight! I just keep telling myself the more pressure I feel the more they will move! Unfortunately the cavity is in the tooth NEXT to the one that they want to pull! Darn! I was seriously hoping that I would not have to have the filling and the extraction.

I will have pics up after a while. I need to eat lunch before they start really hurting!

I know what you mean about pressure on adjustments. I've only had one but I was so uncomfortable when they were trying to open the doors on my brackets, they had to abort the mission! lol Oh well, I'm better prepared for my next adj. June 5th now that I know what I'm in for.

Oh, bummer on the cavity being in a different tooth! :? I'm sending *good vibes* for your extraction and filling.

Looking forward to pics!
Keep smilin'! :)

Hi Bekah ~

Just thought I'd drop by and say hi! It's been awhile......

Well at least your ortho was understanding and considerate while working on you and putting you through all that pain. It's GREAT to have an ortho that cares!

Congrats on your first adjustment and cleaning with braces!

Great pics!
