I have wire ties from 4-4 on top and silver ligs on the bottom. Maybe I'll go for some color on the lowers on my next appointment in 4 weeks.

My mouth is feeling much better, thanks for asking?

How are you adjusting?

Yeah, try a little color. I really don't think anyone notices. My co workers noticed I had braces but no one said anything about the color.

Doing good. The only thing really bothering me is the tooth paste. I love Crest Pro Health paste but its making my lips burns. And the rinse leaves film on my braces. Gotta find something else now. Something anti-cavity, whitening, etc. What do you use?

Hi Himgirl,

OMG, I bought a sample of the Crest pro-health rinse and I used it one day after lunch and I brushed my teeth and used it and I had this blue film all over my silver ligs and blue flecks on my ceramics. I couldn't believe it and I had to brush my teeth again to get all of it off and I needed to go out and see a customer.

I use ACT restoring/anti cavity rinse in cool vanilla mint. As far as toothpaste goes, I had bought a ton on sale of colgate luminous and crest extra whitening(before I decided to get braces). I keep trial sizes of colgate or crest tartar control paste in my dental kit that I keep in my bag.

Hi Everybody,

It only took me two weeks to update my pics. The first pic is was taken about 5 hours after I got my braces and the next two were taken 1 month after I got braces. I ended up having my first adjustment 2 weeks ago and I have my next adjustment in three weeks.

Hi Denise,

Thanks, it's only been a little over five weeks and my next appointment is in about 2.5 weeks. My estimate is 12month with the majority of treatment in elastics. My bite is my major issue.

Can't wait for the next adjustment!!!

You've had great progress already if you're already getting adjusted!

Having the prior experience with braces has to make dealing with the pain and initial adjustments easier.

I hope that it continues to go as smoothly for you as it already has!

Wow! Browneyedgrl, your teeth look amazing! I wish mine looked that good. When do you start wearing elastics? Elastics are a year away for me.

Hi Himgurl,

Thanks! I have my next appointment on 3/5, so we shall see what happens. I hope that I get a new wire on top. My ortho didn't mention anything about getting elastics at my next appointment, but we shall see.

WOW your teeth look great... nice and white too. I can see why you didnt like the Crest Pro Health I use it and love it but I have all metal brackets. I have some special mouth rinse to promote healing I have a few hooks that are shredding my checks and lips pretty good. Yesterday I had wax on 6 teeth.

I had an early adjustment as well. I kinda wish I had not, I was all used to them the way they were. But hopefully I can get these things off faster.

See ya later, Take care
My sentence is a Minimum of 24 months
I am in for a bite issue
I am a all metal girl :)

Hi Smile,

Thank you, I'm a big time coffee drinker and my sonicare is what keeps my teeth white! I would have liked the Crest pro-health if it didn't stick to the braces and leave that blue film. I'll try it again once the braces are off, another 10 plus months if all goes well.

I hear you on the hooks, My hooks on the molar tubes are killing me. Nothing like a few holes in your cheeks! Right now I have 5 of them, 2 on top and 3 on the bottom (my ortho hasn't decided if he's going to add the other 2nd molar since it's a crown and he's waiting to see if the top needs to be added into the arch - I think that they'll be added eventually.) I still find that I use wax on them from time to time.

I was totally used to my braces and then was the unplanned adjustment. Now I know anytime I go in there especially if I'm close to my next adjustment, take something beforehand.

Catch ya later!

Hi, B ---

Your teeth look great! Nice and white and blend in so well with your brackets! I can't tell that you drink coffee.

You are good with a camera too! and in the one photo, I can see the hooks, right up on your lip... like if you smile, your lip could get caught up on it ... OUCH !! I feel sorry for you and the others who have hooks.

And you've had an adjustment - wow - I know you are sore from that. I do not look forward to my first adjustment.

Today I had my 6 Ice Ormco brackets replaced so I now have total metal Damon 3mx. I'm giving up clear brackets for the faster progress. But I really like them. They are so little and smooth in my mouth. --- yeah, I have to keep thinking of the "Pros" because I know the "Cons" are they are not clear.

Hope it's going better for you today,

Pebbie

Hi Browneyedgrl ~

I'll soon be joining the Ceramic Uppers/Metal Lowers Club!! Will you let me join? :)

So you swear by your Sonicare, huh? I've been debating whether I should invest in one......

Bummer that you have to take the journey twice! :(

Hi Pebs,

Thanks! I try to be good with the camera. I took alot of pics and three decent ones is what I got! I'm a mega coffee drinker, a drink 2-3 mugs in the am before I leave the house, pick one up while I'm in the car, maybe have a cup or two while I'm in the office or I'll just warm up the togo cup.

As far as my hooks go, yes my upper lip gets caught in them on a regular basis, but I'm use to it. It will be interesting once I start wearing elastics.

I had my first adjustment 3 weeks ago, which consisted of a new wire on the bottom and new ligs on my upper 5's. I think that I need to call the ortho tomorrow, I noticed that one of my upper centrals is touching my lower bracket. My next appointment is in two weeks, I'll see what they say in the morning.

Did you end up getting an adjustment while they changed your brackets? I probably would have changed too if it was going to shave off 2-3 months.

TTYL,

B

Hi Braced32,

You can totally join the club! I love my sonicare, I got it as part of my goodbag from my orthodontist. It's the sonicare flexcare -- it's awesome!!!

It sucks that I have to do this again, but my major issue is my bite, TMJ, and I did have some relaspe. I honestly have to say that it hasn't been bad. I deal with customers on a daily basis. Some people ask questions especially if they've worn braces in the past. The best one was that a couple of days after I got braced, I went to see a customer and I needed to renew her contract. I spoke with her a bunch of times on the phone and then I personally met with her and she had braces. It was a total ice breaker for me. I've noticed alot more adults out in the workplace wearing braces.

When do you start your journey? Keep us posted.
