Maybe I just have giant teeth

No, my braces are Damons (self-ligating) - ceramic upper, metal lower. They are smaller than traditional brackets, but they aren't those tiny ones.

Here's a link to MapleLeafMan888's story (his pics are about halfway down the page)... he also has Damons and has pictures from different angles

Happy 3-month braceversary to me!

My braces are boring right now... nothing hurts, nothing seems to be moving, and I'm eating (almost) whatever I want.

I was like that the whole time i had my braces, then this monday, my ortho told me that he needs to band the last four molars and slap some blue spacers on me.. as long as I am not chewing, no pain, but when I try to chew any kind of food, sensitivity!!!

Thats me too. The ortho actually wanted me to slow down the movement since it happened so fast....like I can control that. lol Nothing interesting here!

Is anyone else going through toothbrushes a lot faster with braces? I've got bent bristles and they're coming out in my bracket doors. I've only been using this toothbrush for a few weeks... had to replace the last one because of the same thing. At this rate I'll need a new toothbrush every month!

Haha yeah, I just went and bought a few new ortho head brushes from the drug store last week---the lady at the check-out was looking at me funny.

Do you use the ortho head or just a regular brush? The ortho head brushes are great with their little slot groove cut out for the braces to fit in between.

P.S. It seems that photos are being removed from all the threads, I see it happened to you as well. :?

I am so glad to hear about your tooth brushes! I was brushing my teeth the other day...and I felt something poke my cheek...I thought..Oh no! I broke something! When I looked in the mirror...I had a bristle from my toothbrush..stuck in my braces! I panicked for a second..but thought...it went in my braces..it will come out. So with the help with tweezers..I pulled it out. Next day...2nd time for my new toothbrush..it happened again! New toothbrush went on the trash! Another new toothbrush...has not happened since!

Yes, me too. I find a soft or medium tooth brush only lasts a few weeks before the bristles become shredded and less effective. I experimented with different brands until I found one that seemed more effective and lasted longer.

It's funny.. because I have the tooth brush with a gummy part that's suppose to massage the gums.. well, the gummy part looks like it's been ripped apart from a werewolf.. I had to throw it out only used it for 3 weeks. Went and got another ortho brush.. been using it for 3 days now.. so far, so good..

I use a regular brush and then a quick pass between brackets with the little Christmas tree brushes from the ortho.

And yes, it does seem my photos are gone :?

Haha that's exactly what happened to me... I felt something poking my cheek and I thought I broke something. It was just a bristle. I've pulled several of them out of my braces, but I'm convinced at least one of them broke when I pulled it out and I have a tiny piece of bristle stuck in there with the wire lol

I only use soft toothbrushes, otherwise it's too hard on my gums. I might have to try several brands and see which lasts the longest.

Oddly enough, the gummy part of my toothbrush is still looking fine... I just have bristles bent every which way lol

I'm so glad to see it's not just me. I felt ridiculous pulling the bristles out of my brackets and wondered if this was something everyone goes through or if that's just my luck...

I don't know about you guys, but I never really visit the Off-Topic section since it's generally pretty quiet... so I started a thread there that I think could be fun :)
