WOW!!! You must be very proud of your teeth! They are certainly on the move! I'm at 3 weeks and I haven't noticed any movement. I have my 4 wisdom teeth removed in 2 1/2 weeks. I'm sure they'll be able to do their thing once they have a little more room! Your pictures are definately inspiring. Keep up the great work and thank you for your service!

Great progress, Twinjoy!! I hope your cleaning gives you that clean, fresh feel. I know how you feel, my teeth feel "dirty" no matter how often I clean them sometimes too. I'm sure getting to brush when your wire is out won't be a problem...good luck!

Have fun on your trip to the states! :D
Keep smilin'! :)

Today was my second adjustment and no bottom braces again but the good news is he asked the assistant to make my next appointment a bonding so they will be on soon. I also overheard him ask her for a (i hope i remember the number right) 7*23 niti wire. It is big and square instead of round like the last one. I also got a 2 hole powerchain on my front two teeth!

Without further ado here are my new pics!

Thanks for your kind words on my thread.

I read your story, amazing what has happened with your teeth in this short time. Don't look like the same teeth do they?

I hope you enjoy your time in the States and safe return to Japan. Hopefully the flight will be good. Mac or commercial flight?

I don't know much about Japan, my daughter loves any and all things Japanese. I tend to be more Okinawan leaning, as that is what I know. I was in the Corps for 6 years back in the day. :)

I'll keep watching your thread and rooting for you.

Thanks Bracedagain, Melonny, braces4astw22, Miss Smiley and shoezy for stopping by and all the kind words! It's less then a week until my flight to the states and I am sooo excited. There is only one thing that will make this trip less exciting.....if I don't pass my yearly PT test on the 12th! LOL If I don't pass then I will have to continue to watch what I eat and stay on a strict PT schedule while I am on leave so I can pass when I get back! Everyone cross your fingers that I can suck in one more inch and push out 5 more push ups!

Hi Twin,

Your teeth look great!!! Your progress is amazing in such a short period of time! You must be so excited to come home! How will the boys handle the flight? I remember flying with my girls on their 2nd birthday from Vegas to NY, it was interesting...

Anyway, good luck with your PT test!

Got to run,

B

Well it was a great trip back to the states and my next adjustment is just around the corner. My teeth don't seem that different except the gap is now closed and another opened on the other side.... Anyway, here are some pics.

Thanks to OhNicole, Kara, and browneyedgrl for stopping by!

I had my 3rd adjustment today and I am now the not so proud owner of lower braces! I was so comfortable in braces I barely noticed they were there. That keeps me positive though knowing soon enough these will disappear to me. As of right now though, eating is no fun and my lips are pretty mad at me. Anyway here are my new pics.

So I head over to my apt and walk in to see firefighters all around the building. I check in and they tell me I can either wait for the OK or reschedule so of course I went outside and waited. About 10 min later my ortho came out and said he was ready for me. He told me that there was painting going on up on the roof and they forgot to close the dampers so it sucked all that smell into the building. It was pretty foul smelling for awhile. Then I sit down and the nurse takes off all my old ligs and my wire (they always take off my wire even if they are going to put the same one back in) and she cleans my bottom teeth for my braces. The ortho comes in and does the open, close, open, close and then grabs a nifty tool that yanks one of my brackets on top off (he told me later he repositioned it so it would sit straight and possibly close the new gap that has formed). Then they proceed with the lovely lip spreaders but this time they introduce a wonderful invention called a bite guard which allowed me to rest my jaw while they were placing the brackets!! I was very excited about this because my jaw gets very tired very fast at the dentist office and then starts to tremble and he has to give me a rest for a min. So after they are all on and he puts the new one on my top tooth (the tooth that was the worst in the beginning) he sets me up and says I will be back in about 3 weeks and he willl start closing the gaps and getting me ready for surgery. WOW he said getting ready for surgery! I have only had these babies on for 4 months and he said it would take a yr! He also said I won't be needing elastics until after my surgery. He showed me my molds and how far we have already come and showed me some trouble spots to look out for when chewing so I won't break any brackets off.

Wow sorry for such a long post ( my writing style isn't nearly as entertaining as several others so I hope you are still awake) and now some pictures.

This is where my bite sits regularly

I can't figure out how to get a better picture of my lower jaw

This is as far forward as I can physically push my jaw and you can see the new gap that has formed.

He also mentioned that soon we will be looking into fixing my gum line on top so all my teeth line up! My next adjustment is scheduled for Aug 7th!
