Agreed, your teeth are looking really great. It's so much harder waiting when the changes aren't so obvious but it will be worth it in the end.

It's been a long time since I've been back here. I had a very difficult summer because I fell and broke my left ankle. Had to be completely non-weight bearing on it after having surgery to put in a plate on the left side and pins on the right side. So, I couldn't put any weight on it for 8 weeks. I ended up being in the hospital that whole time, bored out of my mind.
I've seen pretty good progress with my teeth. Went to see Dr. Smith today and they took off the powerchain on my top teeth that went from back molar to back molar and replaced it with a small powerchain that only goes across my top four front teeth. Got a slightly thicker wire but he says I'm "looking good!" I must say that I've been very pleased with the progress my teeth have made. The space is almost completely closed except for a little bit at the very top just beneath the gumline. I'll post pictures later.

Thank you. I must say that all the kvetching and worrying I did before I actually got them put on seems kind of silly now. I'm very pleased with the results so far!

Yes, Tobelei, I'm getting ready to start into countdown mode. I go back to see him on March 22nd and I'm hoping he will give me a deband date at that time. Wish me luck!!

Thank you, TMJJill! I'm much happier now than I was a year ago and I'm very glad I stuck with this. Another nine months or so to go and I'll be free!!!!

It's been a long time since I've been on the forum but in that time the space in between my two front teeth is about 99% closed. I think my teeth are looking pretty darn good and I am now officially in countdown mode -- about 4-5 months left in these things! Can NOT wait to get them off!

Yes, Sunshiney, I am happy. At the beginning he told me he wasn't sure he'd be able to close the space entirely and, as you can see, he was able to do so. I will be even happier when I get them off and I've got my old beautiful smile back. I'm sure it will look different but I'm sure it will be be-yoo-tee-full!
