Re: Here we go!
Oooh I can see a definite gap now between my lower right lateral incisor & canine! He swapped the bottom ligs for wire ties at my adjustment to get rid of some of the rotation, only thing is now my back premolars are meeting before anything else does on that side and stopping me biting properly
It makes me want to clench them & I know that's not a good idea!

Re: Here we go!
My front teeth are finally feeling crunchy, now hopefully this will mean some movement!
Re: Here we go!
Your purple ligs look super cute!
I bought a waterpik as well but I haven't had much success with it. I guess i'll just have to give it another go... Hope all is well

Re: Here we go!
I can see movement in other places but the front gap doesn't look that different to me. I like the new lig colour (not with the lovely yellow tubing but I didn't get a choice there), I wasn't expecting the figure 8 pattern but I like it. Lets see how long this colour lasts - the purple turned a nondescript grey/brown pretty quickly!
He repositioned one my brackets on an upper premolar & today and put a wire tie on that tooth instead so it's the odd one out
He had to push so hard on that tooth to get the wire where he wanted it I thought he was going to snap it off!
He also changed the lower wire to a 0.16 niti.

Re: Here we go!
Your teeth are looking great!!!! I am loving the new lig color. I am stuck between the tell you have purple and pink. The teal keeps popping up so I think that will be my first color when my wires and bands go on this Thursday!

Re: Here we go!
These have been on a couple of weeks now so things are looking a bit stained. I now have a 0.19 x 0.25 rectangular wire on the bottom and the tubing wouldn't fit around it so I'm free of that on the bottom now (it's finished trying to eat a hole through my lip now too)!
0.16 on the top & the gap is closing up nicely

Re: Here we go!
Isn't that just great. My first day in rural Thailand and off comes the bracket from my upper right front tooth!
Not much I can do about it from here anyway - I hope it doesn't wander too far out of place....

Re: Here we go!
Hi gapsbegone,
I just found your posting and just finished reading it so I thought I would reply so I can follow your progress. I have a gap between my two front teeth which is about the same size as yours. Awful, aren't they?
So, I got my braces put on at the end of October and I've been in them for just over a month now. Have seen a little bit of closure on the top, not much. I go back for my first adjustment in mid-December.
Anyway, take care and keep us updated on how things are progressing. Good luck with your treatment!

Re: Here we go!
It's been ages since my last post, I've obviously reached the not interested stage now
Both wires are now 0.19 x 0.25 rectangular, and one of them is steel (not sure which one). He gave me a clear power chain (which is now a lovely yellow colour) on the front 4 top teeth last time.
I thought the Christmas ligs might look a bit silly but actually I quite like them!
Once the gaps have closed up a bit it's time for the baby teeth to come out
and then I'll have to make a decision on implants vs other less scary options

Re: Here we go!
Well, I can definitely see some difference in the size of your gap. It's starting to close up very nicely which I'm sure must make you happy! Hang in there. It's happening!!

Looking great. Loved the purple ligs
I also have braces for an upper midline diastema. Its surprising how quickly you will see your diastema close with the powerchain.
Feel free to see how quickly I saw a difference on my story.
