Well, it's been six weeks, and a couple of my teeth have moved a tiny tiny bit. I mean just barely! But it's progress! I'll take another set of pics after my first adjustment next tuesday.

I completely missed this thread until now. I agree with kipepeo - your teeth really are such a nice shape. You're going to look fantastic when your treatment is done. Have you adjustmed more to the molar buildups? I forget I even have mine now. Mine are on my upper molars, though. I can't wait to see your next set of progress pictures. Any more issues with broken brackets? I hope everything is going well!

Hi Rach, and thanks!

Yeah, I'm definitely more used to the molar buildups now. I still want them off asap though. She said it won't be much longer, although I have no idea how to gauge what she means.

Everything is going well enough, but I just popped another bracket a couple days ago, after my first adjustment. They criss-cross tied some of my ligatures, and one of them jumped off a couple days after. It was a bracket that was on a tooth that needs rotating, and now that the bracket is disconnected, it is pushing on the tooth in a way that is basically making it go back to how it was. And the bracket is pushed up against the one behind it. So I really hope they can get me in on tuesday, because I'm not going to have many chances to get back there in the next few weeks. I am starting a new job.

The doctor mentioned something about my teeth's enamel not "liking" the cement, because apparently they're very smooth. That's six brackets I've popped in less than 2 months.

Wow Robot--what are you eating--caramel corn or something? 6 brackets? That would cost me $300--my ortho will charge me $50 for anything that breaks. Fortunately, my archwire broke twice, but I think they were afraid of me  so they found excuses not to charge me the $50...not that they didn't mention it....they  had to have a pow wow about whether or not to charge me....

No carmel corn, klo. Nothing crunchy at all. I've simply managed to THINK every one of those six brackets up off of my teeth.

Like I said, apparently, I've got smooth enamel or something, according to the doctor. So they're using stronger "etching" when they reattach them. Believe me, I'm even more tired of having to have them replaced than they are tired of having to replace them. And they do not consider a popped bracket an emergency, so they'll try and convince me to wait until my next appointment, which in this case, is still 5 weeks away.

To be honest, I'm seriously fed up with several aspects of my experience with this dental college. Some of it is to be expected, but some of it is simply negligent, and I'm not going to tolerate it. For instance, this bracket that has popped is literally doing the opposite of what we want it to be doing right now. If they don't think that this is something worth addressing, then it is going to be one more solid piece of evidence that they do not care about customer satisfaction, and if it comes down to it, I will discontinue treatment with them and restart elsewhere. I'm compiling a very serious and direct message to give to my orthodontist. I'll let her decide how to handle things.
