There hasn't been much news since my wisdom ordeal so i haven't been on here for a while. I hope everyone is well.
I am sooooo excited!!! I finally have a BRACE DATE!!! I was able to schedule sooner for my last wisdom to be removed on the 15th of this month instead of the 27th. And I get my brackets on the 26th!!! I've already worked up the scar tissue from the bands so brackets shouldn't be a big deal, right? Sure!
Congrats Patricia on getting your brace date!! Hopefully the time doesn't go as slowly as it has been for me! 6 days, 18 hrs and 36 minutes... yikes!
Sorry to hear about your wisdom teeth ordeal! Good thing you didn't know it was going to be like that before you did it! I got mine taken out in January and the surgeon gave me my options. Either be drugged or put to sleep.. I said definitely put me to sleep!
Thanks Marley! LUCKY!!! I really wanted to be put to sleep but my insurance does not cover the anesthetic to put me to sleep only local. Otherwise, I would have definitly been knocked out! I just keep thinking..."it's just one more, and then I get braces!!"
Did they pull all four at once? Congrats on your brace day!!! Can't wait to see the progress pics! Keep me updated
As soon as they beauties get braced, I'll put up my pictures!
They did all 4 at once. It took a little over an hour. It's funny.. my wisdom teeth were the one thing holding me back from getting braces when I was in high school! I was SO terrified of pain, that I kept ignoring it all!
Oh well :)
In a couple years from now, we'll both be laughing!
I know how that is. My wisdoms were the only thing I needed too. I'm a big wimp when it comes to pain, but I'm glad I'm almost done with them. All my headaches have gone away too
We WILL be laughing with straight pearly whites!! YAY!!!!
My brace date just moved up!!!! My ortho will be out of the office the day I was originally scheduled for so they moved me up to Wednesday the 21st instead of the 26th!!!!!
It will be six days after my last wisdom tooth is taken out. Has anyone had braces so soon after a 3rd molar extraction? I was told it is fine and I should be ok, but I just wanted to know if anyone else had any discomfort?
I understand what you mean when you say your obssesed with your teeth as i was the same but trust me when you get your braces on your obssesion will calm down some
Goodluck with your braces journey, look foward to reading about your journey
I have just 2 hours and my last wisdom tooth will be pulled!!!! I have been sick to my stomach, literally. It doesn't help that I know what is in store for me. Although it is just one, I am still nervous as heck!! BUT, next time I am here I will have braces!!!! (hopefully nothing goes wrong and I will have them). I have even picked out what colors I am getting. Maybe this and this for now.
Thank you sooooo much Rage and KK. This time around everything went perfect.....almost. My surgery was supposed to be on Thursday, but scheduling screwed up and I had to go back on Friday. The whole surgery took no more than 10 minutes!!!!! I will take that over 2 hours any time. This new sugeon even asked me if I wanted to be numb for 3 or 6 hours!!! No swelling, no pain...until today. I go in tomorrow morning because I might have a dry socket . The surgeon recommened I go in early so that I will not be uncomfortabled when I get my BRACES!!!!!!
I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I had a dream last night that I already my braces and was trying to eat an apple but couldn't all I could do is cry:-(( . I must have been grinding my teeth really hard because my teeth are really sore today.
I have already had my last meal and it was worth the extra pound I must have gained. Barbeque ribs with grilled veggies, AND a couple of hot wings with celery. I figured if I won't be able to eat them for the next two years, so I might as well indulge. I really don't care if I don't eat anything tomorrow, I will probably still be full. I do, however, want a carmel apple with peanuts....yummmm!!!!!
My previous pics were taken with my camera phone, they didn't do my wonky teeth justice, here are some better ones. tomorrow I will post my braced pics!!!!!

I have officially been BRACED!!!!! Overall it was not bad at all. The only thing that tasted bad was the cement for my bands, two came loose. I got brackets on almost all my teeth. The only one that didn't was my lazy canine. In two months my ortho will be placing a spring to make room. Then he will bring it down!!!!!! I have gotten so used to having this tooth that I can't even imagine what it will be like to have it even with the rest of my teeth.
I can really tell where my teeth stick out more than others because they keep rubbing against the inside of my mouth, but no sores. Nothing is bothering me other than I CAN'T STOP STARING AT THEM!!!!
Here are my first "braced" pics!!! The tech helped me pick the colors and I love them.
Nice colours. I agree with you about extractions being nasty, I also hated my extraction treatment. After that the braces will be a doddle for you. Good luck in the next few days, I have a similar lower canine to yours and I found that putting wax on it stopped it from rubbing inside my mouth. Your teeth look great already, they are going to look fantastic by the time you are finished.

Thanks joney! Yeah my experience with extractions has not been nice, at all, but is is all done for now. I just hope my ortho doesn't decide I must have 4 premolars taken out!
I have been staring too much, Denise. I know I won't have movement the first day, but i keep looking for it.
Thanks, Elyse84! Hi hope so!! I am so sore today, I've been grinding my teeth at night and they hurt soooooo bad today, that all I can think about is the outcome.
Thanks KK, I did have a good day, it didn't start that way but ended up good. BTW, I fixed the pics
Today I managed to eat a breakfast sandwich but only half and no bread. My teeth are killing me this morning but i was so hungry that I just had to get something in my stomach. I think my dry socket is hurting more than my teeth though. Today is my first day out "in public" and I have noticed everyone looking at my teeth, but they are not sure if they should ask and doing a double take. I think it is really funny!
I found the double take experience amusing too. Once that dry socket heals you'll be much happier. Eating will get easier, I remember on about day 5 when I could finally chew easilly (only on one side at that stage) and I was so happy. By day 7 or 8 I was back to normal.
