Today January 8, 2007 I had my 6-month cleaning at the dentist/hygenist office. I get there at 9:45 when the appointment is at 10am. I love to get there early so that way I can usually get in there early get things done and get out quicker. Today wasn't that time.
I get there at 9:45am and was called in at 10:10am 10 minutes after my appointment time. I go into the back and we walk towards the x-ray machine and take 8 x-rays, 3 on the right side, 3 on the left, one of the upper jaw and one of the lower jaw. x-rays are done and now off to another room for the cleaning. I get in the room sit down and next thing I know I have to wait for 30 minutes just because there compressers for there drills went down and they were fixing it. I was asked if I wanted to wait in the chair until it was up and running or come back later when its running. I decided I don't have to be anywhere until 3pm so I chose to wait in the chair.
Alright now that its done I finally get the cleaning done and was told that I have to go back to the dentist on Monday to get a cavity filled other then that I had EXCELLENT ORAL HYGINE! Wow I actually did better then last time Well thats it for now I will post on Monday for the filling of the cavity, and tuesday for the ortho adjustment.

Nice set of white teeth you have there.
I hope my can look as good as yours.
Nice colors with the powerchains. But I don't see any gaps?
How do they feel?
I hope everything goes smooth for you.

Bye....Marvin
I've been braced for 4 months 1 week 4 days and today was my 3rd adjustment. As I said I will take more pictures when I have time later tonight as I only have a little time to just post short comments and stuff. There are a few gaps you will see in the photos tonight. Anyways as how do they feel in the past 4 months 1 week 4 days this is the very first time I had to take any kind of OTC Pain Meds as my lower right half is in "excrutiating" pain well not really but its painful to the touch. I can barely eat anything, good thing I ate something 1 hour after adjustment. Well keep looking back for more updates!

All right I did tell everyone that when I get a chance tonight I would post about my third adjustment. Well here goes nothing:
I get a phone call on January 15, 2007 told that my appointment will be at 11:30 am instead of 10am like they originally had planned. No problem with that I have the entire Tuesday off so I will take advantage and accept it.
Tuesday January 16, 2007 I get up at 10am to get ready for my orthodontic appointment at 11:30am. I arrive at the office at 11:25 and check in. I sit in the waiting room and wait. Well while waiting there was this young female adult patient we ended up engaging in our own little conversation, she gets called up for her appointment so I’m still sitting in the waiting room to get called in with three young looking patients who look to be about 14-16. About five minutes go by and I finally get called to the back.
I go back to the chair and lay down, the orthodontist checks on my bite and look at my pictures from day one, look at my x-rays from day one and say all right today we are going to start closing those gaps. But there is a little concern I have, we might only get those gaps closed so much and then have to worry about your lower jaw shifting backwards. *WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?* I wish I had spoken to him to find out what that means but I just didn’t care I wanted to get out of there and go eat something before the pain started to settle in.
Half hour settles in and I now have a wire that connects every tooth except for one molar that isn’t bracketed, banded or anything and I decided that I would go with light blue on the lower when I was originally set to alternate they told me that I was going to get power-chains that I would not be able to alternate. D*** them I wanted to alternate so I was stuck with two solid colors. Navy Blue on top and a light blue on bottom. Times up I’m done with my appointment and I go make my next appointment.
Next adjustment will be February 28 at 10am thinking that adjustment I will go GREEN in celebration for St. Patrick’s Day.
I APPOLIGIZE FOR LARGE PHOTOS I WILL DOWNSIZE THEM TOMORROW AFTER WORK I'M TO TIRED TO DOWNSIZE RIGHT NOW!
Now for those photos:

Lookin good Tim Seeing those powerchains up close and how s t r e c h e d they are I can imagine the discomfort they will cause. I think I am a bit of a wimp though, because I regularly am taking ibuprofen for the discomfort. I can deal without it, but I talk all day at work so it seems to make my teeth more sore.
I feel you on the alternating colors. I have this (really nerdy) fear that I will have my heart set on some alternating color choice and they are going to stick powerchains on me.
You read my mind on St. Patty's day, although my next adjustment is February 9th so I HAVE to go with Valentine's colors, but most likely my next adjustment after that will be March 9 or possibly the 16th, but that's still before St. Patty's. I am contemplating green and black. I have to support my Irish heritage along with the many pints of Guinness I will be drinking
P.S. Your powerchains match your eyes so well, hehe

lol thats what my assistant said that my powerchains match my eyes. So I guess I did ok. I was thinking about getting sparkly dark blue powerchains but they didn't look dark enough for me I wanted really dark blue

PS: These powerchains are kicking my @$$ at the moment I actually had to take OTC Pain meds for the first time since getting braced!

AWWW how cute
Well if I get green then they'll match my eyes, lol.
Sorry to hear the powerchains are kicking your bedonkadonk... I think I have a fair share of gaps so hoping that I won't have to deal with them is probably fruitless.

I'm just curious to why my orthodontist thinks there might be problems when the gaps close, and if the problems do occur where my lower jaw gets shoved backwards what he will do to correct that problem.
Anyways have a goodnight PM I will talk more later.
