Extraction Update

#16 Post by chillin-in-grilz »

Update Cont...

Ok I got my extractions done it took over 2 hours plus I had a filling. It was so cool but weird, feeling all the pressure of the teeth coming out. The 1st one I was like thats it? I mean I asked them if it was out yet and they laughed. Lol, But the second one was a bit tougher. But what was weird I have no bleeding at all on the tough one and no pain. But the easier one, is bleeding non stop and is in a lot of pain. Now I found out I need another appointment for one more cavity. Then Im all done till braces on January 23.

Here are some pics of my extractions

Update

Update

Just 6 days ago, as you know I had 2 teeth extracted. Now its not so bad, Im on medication to keep out the infection. I was sore for a few days had to take extra strength tyenol alot. But now I find that my jaw is still sore. And its uncomfortable to eat on one side. Now I find when I eat, food gets stuck in the gaps, it wasnt as bad as the bottom gaps cuz its easier to pick out the food. Now its really hard for the top 2 gaps. And Im afraid food will be stuck and as the gums heal the food will stay there.

Any suggestions?

I Tried

#20 Post by chillin-in-grilz »

Its really hard to get the toothpik in since one of my gaps is behind the teeth and the tooth pik makes the gap bleed. I tried with a mirror and the mirror just ruins the cordination. So Im thinking of buying those dentist mirrors to see if it will help.

Thanks KK for the advice.

One question, You know from my pictures I had from my consult that you can see somewhere on this board. That I have an incisor I think its called that, its behind my front big tooth. With braces will that fit into place and the one that is up above in the gums will that come down into place as well?

And will all my gaps be closed?

Did you ask your ortho's office if they have a waiting list that they call when others cancel their appointments? When I was waiting to be braced I asked to be put on the waiting list and got in 3 months earlier than I was scheduled. I also live in a town with 1 ortho who is booked ahead...

I cant get in till January. They are all booked up. Plus Im going on a cruise so I have to wait until after.

QUESTION: What if you can't put in the elastics? I mean if you try and try and try.

Ya the elastics aren't that hard to put in. My ortho's assistant showed me how to do it in the mirror, and then made me do it to make sure I had it down.
You'll do fine! You may not even need elastics.

Glad the extractions have gone well Brace Face  I'm going to need 4 extractions too, and maybe the wisdom teeth after that. I think we'll be braced round about the same time - my top braces are going on on the 10th Jan, and the bottom ones about 2-3 weeks after. I have my top 2 extractions next friday  so will let you know how they went!

We never realised that we are coming home from our cruise on the 23 rd of January. We booked this appointment way back. So we didnt know the holiday dates, now its definite so we had to change the date for the braces. But its only 2 weeks, no big deal lol. The wait is killing me tho. But time is flying by. In 1 month I will be in the Carribean!
