you go Glen Co Co lol (mean girls) no but seriously *claps* Congrats! I am so happy for you. I like them, did you get both top and bottom? You'll see movement so fast.
You made the process sound like a peice of cake :)
I really wish you would stop factoring the boy into the braces factor. Do it for yourself and no one else. If he doesn't like it then he wasn't worth it who know he may like the things you do in the bedroom even more because it adds some sing sang to it you know. you kiss with your lips and not your teeth. I thought about the kissing and "other stuff" too but I thought well its going to be interesting to learn how to do it without hurting him but then again after a month or two i am going to have way more confidence because they will be straitening out by then and so will yours. How exciting I am sorry about your food dilema :( and your already skinny lol but not in a bad way lol.
I hope things work out with your boy toy and if not your young and there's plenty of fish in the sea who will appreciate you for you. remember be confident show him the braces are not a big deal to you. confidence is hot but not too much lol.

Hehe Mean Girls. I did get top and bottom, yes. He said Ill see a lot of movement within the first month or so. And the process really doesnt hurt at all. The only thing that might cause a little discomfort is the molar band fitting, what hurts is the after affects. Like be sure to use lots of wax on the molar bands. Yeah youll find out it doesnt stick but I found a way to get it to stick! Its not the most.... exciting or comfortable way but it works. You take a blowdryer and blow the inside of your mouth dry, and then keep your mouth open so you dont get any spit or whatever and then hurry and blob the wax on the problem areas.

Ive always wanted this. For myself. Even before I started dating him. And I know like he shouldnt play a big factor into it, but sometimes he does. Ofcourse I dont use my teeth! XD I just...I feel like I have a bear trap so Im deff not into anything right now lol.

The food dilemma is terrible. The college den is really good, they have really good food, just not for people with braces, or atleast new to braces. I was lucky today that they had pudding again and tomato soup, so I ate that. I think Ill just suck on like high caloric food and spit it out XD

Im sure youll be just fine when you get them! Just eat a lot before!

Don't worry about the boyfriend. If he is that worried about the braces, there are other parts of you that aren't braced and if they are...... well......you'd be a first lol  .

I can 100% relate to the food though. I still have to eat subway with a fork, and I can't eat 3/4 of the bread.

My college has a subway....and god does it sound good. But I dont even have any teeth that touch right now so chewing is not an option.

Yeah I dont have any teeth that touch either(except the one annoying tooth that hits the other tooth with the glue on it  ), but I manage to eat a Turkey and Ham with provolone chese :D .... trick is to eat it with a fork, and tear off some of the bread. It isn't a super quick process, but it is worth it when you want something a little more rough.

Hey Chelsea :D

Congratulations!!! Now you're on the way to a beautiful smile...and I was right - your new look is adorable. Sorry you're having such a hard time eating.....you know that will pass. You'll adjust quickly, believe me.

As far as kissing, etc.: the braces really shouldn't be an obstacle. I've dated girls who had braces, plus my wife had them for a couple of years. I know you feel like your mouth's a bear trap, but if you're careful, the braces shouldn't get in the way of anything intimate. I found them to be quite interesting, actually! As far as your boyfriend being cool with them... hopefully he has a sense of adventure!

Good luck adjusting...I look forward to following your progress.

Thank you Mikesmile. Im getting a little better. I dont think I can handle chewing yet though. I had a bottom tooth that covered one of my front teeth and now for the first time the front is moving to where it needs to be. Its painful because my teeth keep hitting the bracket and omggg ouch. Im afraid its going to chip my teeth :/ Also my gums look jacked up but i can feel improvement!

Update with some pictures. Ohhhhh yeah.

Let me first start by saying that I am adjusting to my new gear but only with the help of about a stick of wax everyday. My tongue cant handle it all without the wax. Those molar bands are death to the mouth. I left the wax out one night during my sleep and I woke up to my tongue like raw. Ouch. Anyway as for the looks, Im kinda in a love hate relationship only with more hate. I feel really self conscious now...probably even more with the braces. Maybe its because Im not so used to it yet.

The ch-ch-changes in my mouth! Okay so I would suggest yall opening another tab and clicking the first page of this thread to my pictures before the metal, before the spacers dom dom dom and take a look at those. Okay so the best way to explain the changes in my mouth is through a diagram.

Image

Hopefully that explains it! I tried my best. Now heres some pictures to back it up. [I am aware that I could be subjected to fetish websites.]

Me pulling an ugly brace face.

My clenched smile. [As far as I can bite down.]

Bottom Arch.

Top Arch

Note that none of my teeth touch inside my mouth and the only teeth that touch is the ones in the diagram and that hurts very bad. So with no teeth being able to touch ive been stuck with an ensure diet.

Anddd thats my update. No idea when Im going to get hte rest bracketed hopefully my next adjustment. Also I want to get my fillings changed to white, does insurance cover this? And is there anyway to get these molar bands sanded or filed down. They have very rough spots that cut my tongue bad.

Thanks againbrace. Currently Ive been eating mashed potatoes and soups and such. Hopefully my bite changes so I can get a little more comfortable.

On April 21st, I go to the oral surgeon for a consultation on the removal of my wisdom teeth and the exposure of my left canine. Im a bit nervous. I want good news. I want this whole pain process to go fast and for my mouth not to look horrid, buuuuut good things come to those who wait and I think Ive waited long enough.

The tooth beside my right front tooth feels loose and it sorta hurts but nothing major. However, my left molar thats wrapped in the molar band hurts! Like it its sore. Its like the feeling you get when it has a cavity in a way. Thing is it already has a filling. Who knows. Although I notice some cement from the band on the top of the tooth. I guess Ill mention it on my next adjustment.
