3rd time is the charm

#1 Post by jame »

Bracedagain,

Enjoyed reading your story!

i don't know if i could go through braces three times, but i encourage you to go for it. Mine are first-timers, but i like the results so far. Very few people have asked me about it...i think maybe 80% don't care, 10% think it crazy for old-timers to get them, and maybe another 10% like em on other people? Just a guess.

i like the idea of colors ligs, but have been afraid to try anything other than silver to match my braces so far. i really like blue and red, but from my point of view agree that pink is definitely a ladies color. Maybe it is because of where i work at a power plant, like your place of employment, is male oriented.

Haven't thought much about long term life after braces, but i like the way i look in braces (strange, huh?) and the idea of a permanent retainer sounds like less fuss to me, although it would be harder to floss and keep the teeth clean. Since you have been through that before, do you have any ideas on the pros & cons of retainers?

hawley versus essex

#2 Post by jame »

bracedagain,

Thanks for the retainer info; i don't know a hawley from an essex (sounds like different types of trucks or something!). i have a while before my doc will be discussing retainers, but it is interesteting to learn a little up front. Now i have a place to start at least.

Good luck with your new braces.
