BE BRAVE! Sometimes you just gotta jump into the pool, take a leap of faith and all that.

I totally know how you feel, though. When i went for my consultation i actually never thought I'd agree to commit to it on that day. I walked out with a bonding date set and a treatment plan in the works and was like.. okay, what did i just do?!
I'm 2 days in and I cannot tell you how happy I am that I've done this. You won't regret it either. Trust me, I know how it feels to want to put this off, but until you finally do it, you're just going to keep thinking about it. And don't feel bad about not doing this sooner. Be proud that you're finally doing it now. Focus on the good. :>
Extractions aren't that scary. So you walk around with 4 holes in your mouth for a while, hardly anyone notices. And once the braces go on no one (including yourself) thinks about the holes anymore. Hard to believe, but it's true. The extractions themselves don't hurt, I'd suggest breaking them up into 2 sessions, left side first with a few days in between for recovery, so you can still chew with the right side. That's what I did. By the time I went for the right side extractions my left side had healed up enough for me to eat on that side. But if you don't want to go through the whole thing twice, do them altogether! It's really your choice. You recover in usually just a day or two, with very minimal bleeding. It's been a week since my extractions and the holes have all healed up. Painkillers will be your best friend. Take them! You'll be fine. <3
Are you going for metal, ceramic, or clear aligners?
