Braces day is tomorrow! I've been waiting so long for this. I am so so excited!

I'm feeling quite anxious too. I keep thinking of all the things that could go wrong. My main worry of the day has been that they're going to call me and cancel. I've just had a text to confirm my appointment but the time is wrong. It says my appointment is at 4:30 (I thought it was at 3:50). Yet they shut at 5 and my letter says my appointment is for 60 minutes. Gah! I worry too much. I'm sure everything will be fine though.

I will be so glad when tomorrow is over!

Today is the day I finally become a braceface! I've been waiting years for today. I am so excited I haven't been able to sleep. Appointment isn't till 4:30pm so today is going to be a killer  My fiancée made me a "happy braces day" card, bless him.

I am so disappointment :( Could cry. My orthodontist has just called to cancel because one of their machines they need to put the braces on has broken. They were going to book me in again for next Saturday but I'm at a wedding that day so the next day they can fit me in is July 1st. I'm so sad. I've hyped myself up today, I was so excited :(

I'm quite bummed but it couldn't be helped. She was really sorry about it. It's my fault I have to wait so long, I have so much going on over the next couple of weeks so the only time she could fit me in is the 1st. Oh well. I'm going out to treat myself to a Waterpik to cheer myself up. I have longer to eat all the bad things I won't be able to eat with braces too

Haha I will!

I feel feeling pretty sad about it yesterday but feel much better today. It can't be helped. They were really sorry and were determined to fit me in sooner but I have a really busy month. Never mind. I am a firm believer in everything happens for a reason and 3 weeks isn't too long! July 1st sounds like a good day, an easy date to remember :-D

I'm finally down to 4 days till I get my braces... again.

Urgh, I woke up yesterday morning with a bump on my lip. I thought it was a cold sore (my biggest fear, I've been dreading getting one just before getting my braces on!) but it doesn't have the tingly, cold sore feeling so I'm not sure. I think it's possibly just a little spot. I've been putting Aciclovir cream on it just incase and it seems to have gone down a bit so fingers crossed. I'm pretty sure an orthodontist (or dentist) won't see you with a cold sore which is understandable. Does anyone know? I was too scared to call yesterday. I'll see if it goes down by Monday. TBH I can't really see it so I'm hoping it just goes away.

I REALLY want to get my braces on this week. I don't think I can wait any longer. It's KILLING me. I'm so ready to get started now. It's been too long.

My orthodontists receptionist just called. I was like GAHHHH no! Not again! But they've changed my appointment to 8:45am Wednesday morning rather than 6:30pm which works out much better. I'm going to a funeral tomorrow and have a 4 hour drive home tomorrow evening so won't be back till 1am. I'll be shattered anyway on Wednesday so I'd rather get my appointment done early in the day. She was like "we ARE getting those braces on on Wednesday so get up bright and early!" Oh don't worry. I'll be up at 6am or before

I'm really excited now!

Thank you so much.

IT FINALLY HAPPENED! I am so happy. I've waited years for this day.

I was convinced something was going to go wrong. I was so nervous this morning that I was feeling quite queasy. I couldn't force all my breakfast down.

But it was all fine. It only took about 45 minutes and I love my orthodontist, she is so lovely <3 She spoke about her dog and my wedding while she was putting them on, put me at ease! We had a lovely chat about weddings ha.

I've had them on for three hours and I'm starting to feel a bit of pain now on the left hand side, feels quite tight. I found it hard to pick a colour so I told my orthodontist to just pick something herself as long as it was summery haha. Apparently her and the assistant had taken a bet on whether I would pick a colour or not. The assistant won . She picked a light blue colour.

A pic! Not the greatest because I took it with my phone (I've left my camera with my brother in law, oops). Will get some better shots another day/when things start happening.

The silvery things on the bottom teeth (see I'm missing the blue ligs there) are bumpers to stop my biting the brackets off, I have a big over bite. I haven't seen these before. I've only ever seen the ones that go on the back of your front teeth or the blue stuff on your molars. They're definitely keeping my teeth off them though, eating lunch was a challenge ha!

This coil here is keeping that gap open ready for an implant when I get my braces off.

I've seen four of these vans since getting my braces on this morning haha. I think it's some kind of sign! (Brace's is a bakery here)
