Big Adjustment Tomorrow!

#1 Post by ty24 »

I am really nervous and excited about my adjustment tomorrow! I think there is a good chance that I will be getting my palatial expander out before Christmas! My ortho, (who is by the way, also my girlfriend's mom), seems to think it could be getting close. If this happens it will really be the first postive thing since I was braced in June. I haven't been posting very much, but I have not had an easy time with my braces. After I got them on, it seemed that I had just started to get over the soreness when I had a power chain put on in September, which seemed to set off a whole new round of soreness and inconvenience. My speech has gotten some better with my expander, but I still have a lisp with some sounds. Karie, my girlfriend, tries to make me feel better and say that it is cute but I freaking hate it. Here's hoping that I will be able to say "Merry Christmas!" clearley! :)

Hi ty24,
We have matching tickers although yours is going the other way. Ha Ha. The palatial expander sounds awful so here's hoping you get an early Christmas present and get it removed. I've only got braces but that's bad enough. Who knows what delights the ortho has in store?

Good luck today! Hopefully you get your expander out. I know I was extremely thrilled when I got mine out after having it for 6 long months. When I got mine out it was the best day ever! You'll be so happy with the results and being able to speak normal.

Good news! She took it out! Sure there is still a lot of metal in there but having one less piece feels great! :)
