Pretty much my whole bottom arch hurts. Some on my top too but not as many. It's gonna be minimal chewing for the next few days.
I guess that's a sign that your braces are doing a good job shifting things around! Hope the discomfort eases soon.

Feeling frustrated today. Stuff is changing, which is great but my mouth just feels weird. I feel like my braces are sticking way out so that my lips feel really weird on them... I've been having this problem for a while but it's just bothering me today. Like I can't figure out where to put my lips.

My teeth are hitting at different points than they were a few days ago. With these new wires, they now go all the way to my back bracket (before they just stopped 1 bracket before). Well, I have this indent in my lower cheek now where my bottom rectangle wire is pressing. It just felt like an indent earlier today but it's been there all day (I thought maybe it was just from sleeping.) Now it's starting to feel slightly more sore or raw so I might have to wax it. Crap... I feel like indent on the other side but not as much.

And to top it all off, this little gap next to my BIG gap has gotten bigger and I feel like I look like I have a snaggletooth! I know it's all in my head because my husband laughed at me and said it was fine. My front big tooth is just sitting there with gaps on either side and it just looks ugly to me. Plus it's the same tooth that has a weird white triangle light spot on it so it's just a mess.

It's really strange, one day you feel fine, the next something moves by a tiny amount and everything feels different, your cheeks start to rub and your bite feels off. Hope you get over this quickly. I guess some teeth will need to move out of alignment for a while but should soon move to their new and improved position.

I know what you mean about not knowing where to put your lips! My bottom brackets tend to all of a sudden feel like they are sticking out a mile and bottom lip has no idea what to do! it is weird! then my top brackets with the hooks on for elastics will continue to stick to my top lip if i do not have lip balm on, so all day i spend re-applying lip balm! so annoying lol.

as Neil said, we have our good day and bad, and one minute we love them the next minute we want to rip them off our teeth lol

Hopefully you start to feel better again soon :) :rose:

I understand! I have bad days with mine still too. Same as you where my brackets just feel too big and something is rubbing and my bite is off. It usually passes in a day or two.

Glad your first adjustment is over and went well :) I hear you on those doors! It feels like they're trying to screwdriver your teeth out of your head or something sometimes!

Thanks guys, I'm feeling better. Less annoyed... well sorta.

I made some Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies and put walnuts in it... then realized "uhh probably shouldn't have done that... harder for me to eat." Now I have to chew the cookies all slow. Oh well, they are sorta crusty cookies anyhow so I guess maybe I'd have to do that with walnuts or not.

Well things are starting to hit the "boring" stage with these braces. It's no longer sorta exciting... I haven't had much movement in like a month, which is alright. With my canine teeth in line now, they are looking nice but I have to wait forever I think to close the gap for them to look really nice! I am kinda over taking pictures every week so I stopped that. I'll probably just go with every month now. Which would be next week since it'll be my 3rd month.

Anyhow, the big thing is that I scheduled an impromtu trip home to visit my family... mostly because my sister just got engaged and I'm going to go dress shopping with her! YAY. But this will be the first time my family has seem my braces, besides in 2 pictures. It's just going to sorta feel weird. Like I'm going to go back to feeling self-concious in them. I guess only for a few minutes.

I know what you mean about the 'boring stage'. At first, it's all so new and exciting but so quickly becomes a long waiting game. The only chance we have for things to liven up are at adjustments when maybe something else will be added or changed to make things interesting for a few more days. I also think I have reached this stage but its only been a month for me.

I have the same situation as you, my family are coming to visit next month but, unlike you, they don't know I have got braces so they will be in for quite a surprise!!

Great reading about your progress.

Oh that will be a surprise for them! Yeah I bet you'll reach the boring stage in a month or two. I mean, I got a new wire last adjustment and then it was like PAINNNN for a few days and then boring again.

So I now know what it's like to have braces in the "Real World." I'm used to have my braces on my little island where I work, sleep, live and breath all in the same little place where I don't go anywhere. If I eat, I'm eating at home or can just walk home in 2 seconds (If you don't know my story, I live remote and really do live and work at the same place and there are no restaurants, stores, nothing. We have to fly everything in to us.). But now I'm on vacation and it's definitely more of a challenge to keep the same brushing schedule as I did at home! So now I know what you all feel like. In the airport, I managed to find this little diaper changing cove where I hid and brushed my teeth. But if I go out, I just wait til I get back home I guess. Don't know if it's worth it to brush in a gross bathroom. ha Anyhow, I'm getting used to it more and trying to be more conscious of it.

Another thing I'm conscious of... seeing the littlest kids with braces now! Holy smokes! I don't really feel very self conscious with these but then I keep seeing these 3 foot tall little kids in braces and it makes me feel old or something! HA It's kinda funny but wow, do they really give braces to kids that small!? I thought you got braces in high school. I guess I don't really remember seeing kids in middle school with them.

Anyhow, I sorta feel like my gap is closing on it's own some. I'm not really sure how since I don't have a powerchain and there really isn't any pressure on them to close. But in the mornings, if I stick my tongue in there, it seems tighter. Or maybe my tongue is just fatter in the morning! HA Who knows. But I do think it looks smaller, though I couldn't tell much in pictures. But my boss though it was smaller too. I'm not sure. But I keep smiling at myself in the mirror to see every 5 minutes. I feel like it is smaller. YAY

I'm glad to hear it's closing too

And I hear you on the boring stage. I'm there too. Nothing new at adjustments, just clean and fresh same old same old, have gotten lazy taking photo's, don't feel like anything is moving anywhere. Just want them off already!

I haven't seen too many little kids here with braces. I see them in the waiting room, my ortho starts to keep an eye on them around age 10 in case they need a plate or something but he waits until they've lost all their baby teeth before he puts braces on (so I guess they're around 12-13). My eldest was in first year high school when she got hers on. I surprisingly see more adults with them than little kids.

I am moving where you live! I dont ever see any adults. The closest Ive came is a college student getting fit for her retainer because she lost it.
