I was a much healthier eater before my braces too, had salads for lunch everyday at work, now I can't even eat spinach or lettuce, I have made a concoction up which is KINDA like a salad. I have been eating it on english muffins.

Tuna
Canned Corn
Spring Onion
Lemon Juice
Shredded Lettuce
Natural Yoghurt

all mixed up together and put on english muffins, seems weird, but it is NICE! and it all stays together so its easier to eat lol :)

you could use sour cream but naturual yoghurt is a bit healthier :)

but yes, I have gained like 2-3 kilos since having braces, thanks to all THE CARBS I HAVE BEEN EATING lol. Eating nothing but cheese and vegiemite sandwiches! and fruit bread! lol

DOH! I am trying to get back into healthy this week, I just had my birthday, my back and neck are stuffed cos i havent been doing my weights or even going to gym, I feel like a big blob and I feel horrible lol. Going to gym tonight LOL

I just figure I'll eat whatever I can get into my mouth for now and worry about losing whatever I gain (or at least being healthier) once they're off and I can chew through a salad once again. I must admit, I kind of miss a good salad! You get tired of garbage after a while.

Sadly, I'm a very bad kid. I don't eat anything that grows off plants, except potatoes. Basically, I don't eat my veggies :| 100% carnivore :)

It's been 2 weeks and my bottom teeth have barely shifted... So far nothing has changed, really hoping for it to start moving soon!

Just had my adjustment! Went with neon pink and green this time :) Loving it! No powerchains this time, my ortho says we're just working on getting the arch shape now, no closing of gaps. Boy are my teeth sore already :(
Photo on 17-6-13.JPG
There hasn't been much progress, just that my canines have moved back quite a bit so there are like 4 gaps in each arch D: between the canines and the lateral incisors, and between the canines and my 2nd premolars (from the extractions)

Colours are so fun! Hehehe for my next appointment I have already decided I'll be patriotic for national day and get my country's colours, red on top and white (I'll figure out somehow) below :D

Thanks! I loved it too, my ortho chose everything for me :) I just told her that I wanted random colours and she picked out all the pastel ones!

I just realised I have 2 bends in my lower archwire, just between my molar bands and my 2nd premolars o_O No idea what they are for, but I think they prevent my archwire from moving back, probably why she didn't bother curving the ends of them. Oh well!

Haven't updated this in a really long time! Finally got around to taking more pictures, sorry for the horrible quality, it was really hard to take photos of my arch :(

I'm at my thickest wire already! Had hooks attached between my lateral incisors and my canines, and have 2-link powerchains from those hook to molar hooks to close up the gaps!

Pink and pink ligs for valentine's day, and I have metal ties on all my canines :)

It's been awhile since I updated my blog, because I have just been posting in the main forums instead. Decided to add in my half-debanded photos to my progress collage! I get my retainers in 2 days, definitely not looking forward to that :(

I'm interested to hear about retainers. It's a long way off for me but I would like something to wear at night and to be free in the day. Then there is the possibility of permanent ones on the back of teeth which I don't like so much but maybe they are not so bad after wearing braces for two years.

From my knowledge, I'll be wearing retainers full-time (24/7 except when eating/brushing) for at least 3 months. Then slowly ween off to night-time wear only and perhaps a few times a week. But I think I'll be in retainers for the rest of my life. My orthodontist didn't offer me permanent retainers but I don't think I enjoy having metal at the back of my teeth forever... At least with removables you get to enjoy fully free teeth!
