Re: Finally starting my journey
Thanks both, will try and post some pics this weekend.
I'm not doing too well with the retainer. After spending an hour in the chair with my mouth open with them trying to pry the braces off without really being able to open my mouth i've got deep cuts in the corners of my lips. Now it hurts to open my mouth at all really. I can get the retainers in easily enough but taking them out is pretty much reducing me to tears. I just can't get the bottom one out easily. I'm not sure if the plastic is covering my gums too much on one side as I just can't seem to get my nails under if and putting my fingers in my mouth is just causing my lips to tear even more. Not sure how it's ever going to heal! Once the retainers are in it's fine so will be looking forward to the point when I only have to wear them at night so I only go through the ordeal once a day. I know it sounds a bit pathetic but it seriously hurts. Also constantly paranoid about breaking them when trying to get them off!

Hi Midnight, how are you getting on with the retainers now? If you are still struggling to get them out then you should go back to the ortho, i'm sure they can trim them a little bit to make it easier for you to get out. When I got mine fitted the ortho could hardly get them out the first time but after a little trimming such that the plastic doesn't come all the way to your gum line it is a lot easier to get out.
Can't wait to see the final pix
