You haven't got your elastics yet? Am I right in understanding that you were told you'd have them at about 5 months and it is a year and a half and you still don't have them? What has he/she said is the reason? At any rate, it must be pretty cool to have watched the gap closing and I can certainly imagine that patience is harder once the visible changes slow down. Do you have any recent profile pics of yourself that you can compare and remind yourself of how far you have come?
Good luck with your continued progress!

I wasn't actually told when I would be getting them, only that I would need them to correct my bite.

The progress to date has been amazing, however my patients is now getting the better of me. I just can't wait to end my treatment and get back to eating what I want, when I want!

Thanks for the post.

Very nice. Although I don't have the gaps you had to start with, my profile on x ray is very similar to yours. Black folk just have different facial features but I too want a less protrusive profile and hence my braces journey. Hopefully you are coming to the end of yours. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi Asabea,

How's it going? Don't know if you remember we had our braces fitted around the same time. I'm on the home straight now with 5 months to go.. You must be too?

I stopped coming on here because I found documenting everything and thinking about braces all the time was making the whole thing drag.

Your last pic looks great and your teeth look so White!

Hi Ladybird,

Great to hear from you. How are you finding the treatment? Like you I have been terrible at updating my story as the braces have become a part of my life. I have not yet formally discussed the end of my treatment with my ortho; however it can't be too long now!

Anyway, please keep your story updated as it would be great to know when you are finished.

Take care.
