Adjustment #5 is tomorrow!! After my last adjustment I couldn't hardly blow my nose and my teeth hurt  !! I will post pics and let you see my new colors. I chose light blue last time and I really liked the looks of them but they have faded a really ugly light green :? Not pretty. I think I will go back to pink. I let you see tomorrow!! :D :D

Hi Lori!

Hope you're feeling better after that last adjustment. The blue ligs look pretty! I'll agree with Smiley on the tropical colors... that would look awesome! :D How was Hawaii? I'd love to go there!

Your teeth look beautiful. Cant wait to see future pics.

Had my 5th adjustment yesterday!! I got some GREAT news too! My ortho said that this is the final wire I will have on top. the last jump I had (which hurt a lot) was the biggest jump, but for the most part it sounds like, that my top teeth are where they need to be. He is now working on my crossbite and the bottom teeth. He said if anything up top needs it, it will be "picking on" certain teeth. Possibly start elastics next month, wait and see he said.

Kara, LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Hawaii. Would go back in about 2 seconds if I had the opportunity. I went with the pink ligs this time. My light blue faded to a really ugly color! the assistant yesterday said that they have had a lot of people with the same problem! Must be something in that color, who knows.

It is so hard to believe that #5 is under my belt. Crazy how times just flies by. Here is a good thing though, my teeth are really sore today, (gotta love those powerchains ) so I don't think I will have to get into the kids Easter candy. That's a plus, eh?? Take care everyone and have a joyous holiday!!! Heres me new colors: pink, it's my signature color!!!

beautiful teeth there.... :D

I'd LOVE to go to Hawaii. I've never been before. I hear nothing but great things about it so it must be gorgeous there.

Hope those teeth stop hurting soon! That's awesome about the last wire. You're on your way to naked teeth! LOL. :D

I went yesterday for my 6th adjustment. My ortho is now working on closing my bite. I have to wear one elastic on my left side at night. Yesterday I ended up with a migraine after my adjustment. He told me that I would really feel it on the left side. He was definitely right!! Hard to believe that I have six months down already. It has been a really stressful 3 weeks in my house. My husband found out on March 31 that the company he as worked for since December 1998 no longer needs his position. 2weeks later my friend who was only 37 years old dropped dead. I have to say the only thing in any of it that might be good is that I have lost 19 lbs. I am trying to make the most out of life right now. Thanks for listening. Lori

Hey Lori, how unfortunate for your husband and I'm very sorry to hear about your friend. I have lost 2 people, both 24 yr old young men, who were well on their way to achieving their second set of goals after college. It's hard to deal with losing someone so suddenly. I hope you find the energy to eat and keep yourself going. After all, you do have to be around for your hubby.

On a lighter note, wonderful about having another adjustment, but not so wonderful about the pain. I know the feeling, as I just had my 1 yr adjustment and boy were my teeth sore like the first day of being braced. I had to use my manual toothbrush and brush super lightly as ALL of my teeth were tender. All I had was a new powerchain and kept everything else the same.

Hope your teethies and heart feel better soon!

Lori:
First chance to follow up with you. Your teeth do look like you're making great progress.

I do hop something wonderful happens for your husband. I know how stressful this kind of change can be.

Good luck.

Miss Smiley, Iborg--thanks for your kind words. My husband is a resourceful man and has decided to break out on his own and start his own graphic design business. He has been doing graphic design for the past 17 years and doing freelance on the side so he does have some clients from the moonlighting gig. Just praying that all goes well. Again, I thank you for your support.

The toofs are feeling a little less tender although I am being super duper careful  I have been diligently wearing my elastic at night. I am such a stellar student  too bad that I wasn't stellar when I had braces 30 years ago and maybe I wouldn't be doing this again. :? Take care! Lori

Hello, I just had my 7th adjustment. Everything is going well. I am wearing an elastic at night just on the left side. My ortho is working on my bite and closing the gap. I got hot pink ligs this time. I am not thrilled with them actually. Oh well, there's always next month!! :D The assistant gave me a compliment on how clean my teeth were. That made me feel good!! Have a great weekend!! Lori

Amazing story, I absolutely admire people who make the decision later on in life. Yes, it is harder, but it's so worth it!!

Hello, I haven't posted for awhile now. It seems that things have gotten super, super hectic and have been dealing with a lot of things. But I had to post and tell you all that my teeth are really starting to look straight to me. It seemed like forever that people were telling me they looked good and I would nod and say, thanks! but didn't really see it too much. But lately, I cannot believe how different they look. I am going to post my first day pic and my pic now. Let me know if you see the difference. Thanks Lori
