shoezy - I'm out of elastics for now, I find that the spring is more convenient because I don't have to replace it or worry about carry around any extra things in my purse.

Geez, luckily I didn't throw out all of my wax while cleaning out my medicine cabinet. My brackets are rubbing where my brackets were repositioned. Day 1 of a mini ulcer, thought it would go away. Day 2, thought it would be slightly better but has gotten worse and second ulcer is starting to form. Are you kidding me?! After a year, you would think my mouth would have adjusted to having two whole rows of these things in my mouth. The human body, quite complex...

Hi Miss Smiley! :D
Boo to ulcers!!
I had started to get the worst ulcer ever on the inside of my lower lip right after they put new/thicker wire on at my last adjustment. I remember waking up the day after it was put on thinking "wow, my lip really hurts." I go look in the mirror and what do I see? A deep indent of my archwire going all the way across the inside of my lip! It was soo weird, I didnt even know that was possible. Thankfully it went away. I still have a partial scar where that bugger was!

Unhappy teeth, melissa and Kara - those ulcers are just coming and going all over the place! Hopefully this lets up soon.

Mer and OhNicole - Thanks for saying my teeth look good, I'm kind of at that point where I just want them off now. I needed a bit of a boost.

So for dinner, I had a BLT sandwich. I was chewing a bite with lots of bacon and I heard a crunch, I thought it was the bacon. I kept eating and come to realize that one of the brackets that was just repositioned fell off. Boy was that tooth feeling all weird. It started to ache a little bit later but seems to have subsided on its own. Does this mean I can't have bacon anymore either? OMG seriously, I'm starting to think these things will not have an early release.

Hi Miss Smiley,

Sorry to hear of all the troubles you've been having lately. On a good note, your teeth are looking terrific! Sending *good vibes* that things get straightened out and your pesky bracket behaves once replaced.
Keep smilin'! :)

Well today, I went to the ortho to have them check out the bracket and the tooth (lower 5th) because it was bothering me. It was pretty sore yesterday and today didn't seem much better. They replaced the bracket, took an x-ray, the ortho looked over it and said that the bracket needed to come off. YIKES... He told me that there is a dark spot next to the root of the tooth and he didn't want any pressure on it. So... it could mean that I have an abscess or a root carie. Which means, more flossing, fluoride rinses, and no more soda or cookies. Hopefully it is small enough to heal itself, because I really don't want to lose another tooth after having all my 1st pre-molars gone. Send me good vibes and let's cross our fingers.

Thank you for your wonderful thoughts! They must be working because the tooth is virtually pain free as of now. It must have needed a break from all this remodeling. I'm hoping I can get back on track soon and get a better idea of a debanding date. I forgot to mention that the x-ray which was taken the other day showed how nice and straight my roots were aligned. I was SHOCKED!!!! The assistants kept coming over and telling me that the x-ray was of my teeth and to see how the roots were straight. I have my next adjustment on Wednesday, let's hope that this dark spot has gone away come the next x-ray.

Glad to hear your pain subsided Miss Smiley! Aren't the x-rays fun? I just love looking at them and seeing what's going on up there where you can't normally look 8) My fingers are crossed that all goes well for you on Wednesday!
