Congratulations on getting braced. :D Your ligs look lovely, I think I'm feeling a tiny bit jealous that as I have linguals I don't get to pick colours!

Hope your headache has gone

Hi Luella!

Love your ligs! I went with clear but after seeing yours I am definately going to be more creative next time. I am sore as well this morning, guess it just comes with the territory.

I am struggling with the flossing and I have two teeth (one each side bottom) where the wires are so tight I can't get the little spiral brush in. I guess as the teeth move the brush will fit in?

Take care and keeping flashing those wonderful ligs!

Just an update... Still hurting, but Advil is definately my friend. I really want chips and salsa!!!! I'm sure I'll get there soon. Flossing sucks, I seriously cannot fit it between most of my teeth- thats irritating. My teeth seem to hurt worst after I brush them- which is not exactly what I would call motivation to brush them more. LOL! Other than mild discomfort, I'm doing good!

P.S. The girls at work say I look like a high school intern!!! And my husband says they're cute and they make me look young and people are going to think my almost 5 year old is my little brother. I will hit someone if they really think he's my brother!!!!

That's pretty funny. The people I work with were startled when they noticed my braces (for the first time) and they also said it made me look younger (no one accused me of being "cute" however ;) )

I can tell you about brushing...I've never brushed so much in my life...4 times today so far, and the waterpik twice. I'm thinking of getting one of he small portable ones to use at work. Do you have/use one?

I'm taking 800mg Motrin now...that way I only have to take 1 pill instead of 4! :)

insinu- I don't have a waterpik- I've never used one, and I'm hesitant to buy one because I don't know if it's worth it. I've brushed 3 times today and Listerine-d a LOT! I'm sore tonight from talking all day, and I just bought some Aleve so I'm only taking 2 pills twice a day. My poor liver is probably working double time on all this NSAID I'm taking! LOL. Thank you all for your support!!!

Thanks Denise!!! I suppose I should buy a waterpik; everyone seems to like it if they have one, although I have read a lot about them not lasting very long which is disappointing. I'm all about the "look skinner" thing- I'm hoping I will actually lose some weight- weight loss was supposed to be my New Year's resolution... but we all know how that goes!!!

Hi Luella,

Just getting caught up on your story. Congratulations on your decision to get braced!! The different color ligs must have some effect on their strength, 'cuz at my last adjustment (which was my final adjustment--getting debanded on July 1st & so excited about that), Dr. S insisted that I get silver power chains. I didn't really question why, although I should have.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi, great pics, & have a great treatment!

Happy B-day! :-)o Cool ligs too. My orhto warned me about eating chips but after a few weeks of being braced I couldn't resist. Although, I've had a few scares with Fritos

Good Luck with your progress!

Just getting caught up on your story. I am so proud of you. WTG on getting braced and being proud!

The pink and yellow ligs look awesome. I hope by now you are feeling a little better, and not needing to pop so much advil. I think with all us brace wearers, we are keeping the Advil company in business. I know I sure use a lot more than I ever thought I'd need.

Great job, and keep us updated!

Luella,
Just thought I'd stop in and say congrats on getting braced from another Fort Worth AW member!       Great colors, btw.  Ohh and about being told you look young, take it as a complement, though I can understand how your son being mistaken for your little brother might be a bit much.  Haha, I was mistaken for my husband's daughter during my 2nd time in braces(I had metals, top and bottom that had little baby blue ligs at the time and was 25, he was 33 at the time)       Hope you start to feel better soon!  I actually find that chewing a piece of Dentyne ice really helped me alleviate the pain.  It may hurt a wee bit at first but isn't sticky and I find it gives you a lot of relief!  Good luck to you,
~Becky

Happy 1 week anniversary! How is it going? My teeth were only sensitive for the first four days and then I was pretty much back to normal.
I had my braces on for 2 years, 1 month, 2 weeks and 2 days.
