Before and After ~ 1st day in braces

#1 Post by Crystal S »

11:00~ Oh my goodness... I am SO stinkin nervous! I kinda know what to expect from reading everyone's stories, but I feel like I am going to implode with nervousness! When it's all over I will probably be saying, "that wasn't so bad, why did I get so worked up?" But I guess we'll see when the time comes. I'm also thinking that 2 years is a long time! But I am not going to prolong this. It needs to be done and I'm sure I will get used to it and my braces will just become part of me. Take a good look at my before pics cause you'll never see them the way they are again! I'll try to post pics tonight or tomorrow. Till then...

Two years goes quickly. Think back to two years ago. Remember much....its a blur. So will this experience.

Braces are as good (or bad) as you make them. This is a decision you have made for yourself. It is in many ways like a massage. No one but you (and the ortho) will benefit from your treatment.

With that being said, take pictures as soon as you can. There will come a time when you're ready to be done....when you can't see progress. Take a picture on that day. Compare that picture with today's pictures. You'll quickly see progress that will give you great encouragement.

Finally, try to make this fun. Go search for a Serta sheep #.5. You'll understand. Smile, be proud. Today can be a start of a great experience.

Mike
I wore braces (this time) for 1294 days or 3 years, 6 months and 17 days.

Happy B-day! I'm on day 9, and enjoying a fat hamburger :) This will be one of the great decisions in your life, and I'm of the opinion that a great smile enriches your life, and the lives of those around you! :D

Well, It's been about 8 hrs. since having my braces put on and all is well. I have a little soreness inside my lips from the braces rubbing, but the wax does wonders! A few of my teeth are tender when I bite down, but not too bad. Hopefully, the next few days won't be as bad as I'm expecting them to be. Thanks for all of the encouraging comments! I'm pretty self-concious right now, but I know it is a good thing! I can't wait to see the end result!!! i will post some pics soon! :D

Happy Brace Day! :-)o

Congratulations on getting braced! I bet you are proud of yourself. Keep using the wax! It's a great help. Did you get metal or ceramics? Any coloured ligatures?

Can't wait to see your pics!

How does it feel to be braced!!! You're on your way now. It will be over before you know it. I just had my 6th adjustment and the time has just flown by. Good luck!!

My daughter is so cute! She is 2 1/2 and she loves my braces! She keeps pointing them out and saying that she wants some too! If she only knew what a pain they are right now. I told her if she needs them when she is a big girl, she can have some too. Now she can't wait to be a big girl! :)
