I went to the ortho today and got new ligs! I chose periwinkle...the assistant said that color stains the least...I hope shes right! I love them so far, they are nearly invisible!!! Oh my, I saw the old ligs (that used to be CLEAR) on the table and they were bright YELLOW...i couldnt believe how disgusting they looked. I was so glad to get them off my teeth!!! And she even commented how different my teeth looked since last time I was in (braces day)! Wow, that was good to hear...its only been 28 days so far
Sadly though, she also said "sorry, but we cant squeeze you in anymore for early appointments!" and she also said that I cant change them myself at home! DARN! The other lady got my hopes up. Oh well..

Heres some quick pics before I head off to work!

Oh and the blue things on my back teeth are molar build-ups.

Today is also my 4th week in braces! Woohoo...

love the new color! I have a clear power chain across my front only because that's the only color she had, but thankfully she said if it gets too nasty looking to come in and she would change it. I'm glad you joined the club and are on the road to fabulous teeth!!

I hate when my ligs start to stain. If only we could change them ourselves :?

I'm way jealous of your lip shape by the way haha

weird, it seems the search feature is gone. normally, you would just go to your profile, and click the search link and then all your posts come up - then just find your braces story from there...
i'd mention it to lynn.

Ken, I found the link to your story - it was at the bottom of the 1st page of the "Our Braces Stories" forum. here it is: viewtopic.php?t=13266

Just copy and paste that link into your WWW section of your profile or just paste it into your sig :D

Happy 1 month anniversary, although abeit late. And can you pleaaaassseee tell me why you need braces???? Your teeth are sooo nice and straight!! I guess it's the perfectionist in you? J/K. You have beautiful teeth and once those braces are off, they will be picture perfect!

Your lavender/periwinkle ligs are really cute! Another color to consider when I go in for my next adjustment!

Thanks for visiting my thread! :D

Hi missfashionista! Thanks for the compliment!
I guess you can't tell from those pictures but, I have severe crowding on both top and bottom (the bottom is really crooked), my arch is more like a V and it need to be more like a U, I have an overbite, and my biggest concern is bringing one of my adult teeth more forward (it grew in back of a baby tooth and I recently had that baby tooth extracted so the adult one could be brought forward.)
I have lots of issues going on in my mouth...I wish I didn't need braces! But sadly I'll need them from about 3 years

Hi Melissa...great pics! I love your ceramic braces. They're so discreet :D !The periwinkle ligs look great too. Glad to hear you got in to get the stained ones changed. Wow, 3 years? Your teeth look great now but just think of how pretty your teeth will be at the end of your journey! :-*
Keep smilin'! :)

Hi Jenny! Yep they estimated that my sentence will be about 3 years (at the most), but I'm praying it'll only take 2 years - that's what a different orthodontist told me. So we'll see!

I dont think my teeth look that great...I've always been very, very embarrassed by my smile. Although I can already see some changes going on, so I am becoming more confident already.

I'll take more detailed pics, I guess those others kind of hide my problems...like the big gap sort of in the front where my baby tooth got extracted -- and where soon the adult will take it place. Also, you can't tell I have an overbite in the other pics. :? So I'll be taking more pics soon, so stay tuned

Yeah, I can't believe that you need to be braced for 3 years! Maybe your ortho. was just being on the safe side by quoting you a longer treatment time. I think I have more overcrowding than you on my lowers and I was quoted 20 months. I hope I get done sooner than that though!

Thanks for visiting my blog :D

I have clear ligs btw. Last time I went in for an adjustment they had turned nasty yellow at the 2 week point. I chose to have clear again this time too, but I'm currently insanely careful about colored food. I'm doing a good job so far, but I'm gonna see how this goes. If they still end up yellow then I'll definetely going to change out to periwinkle ligs like yours. They are barely noticeable on you!

Hope yours are fast movers!

(notice the space between my 2 front teeth? woohoo, movement! those teeth used to overlap.

it takes forever to get good pics, because most of the time, they come out blurry...soo annoying!

Hi Melissa ~

Great movement already!

I'll be getting my uppers braced in ceramics in few months. I'll have to keep the periwinkle color in the back of my mind. However, I don't remember my ortho having it. They only had about a dozen colors to choose from and they were mostly bold colors! :(

I, like you, was given the opportunity to get braces in my childhood. However, after having three teeth pulled by my mean dentist and going to the records appointment with the mean ortho, I chickened out. My dad tried to change my mind but it didn't work. I, like you, wish my parents would have "forced" me to take action then! At least they and their insurance would be footing the bill instead of me solely out of pocket!! :)
