Lea's story...Update and pics pg. 5
Moderator: bbsadmin
Hi Lea
Great news that the tooth is in front now. The bite plate sounds painful and I suppose if the purpose was to stop the tooth sliding behind the bottoms, which is no longer happening, then you will be ok. To be on the safe side why don't you call the ortho and explain what is happening and get the nod that it is ok to continue, as you are doing now, until your next appointment.
Keep trying with the flossing, I had trouble at first because my teeth were so jam packed close together but it is really easy now. Once the teeth loosen up a bit it gets a lot easier.
Regards
Joney

I talked to my ortho...well the receptionist lady, Becky, She said that i'll be alright without the bite plate until my next adjustment next week. she said to continue wearing it when i eat and sleep. I have been really good about not hitting my brackets without it, so that's a relief. Some of my teeth are a bit sore right now. The front on mainly. Ah well that's gotta mean some movement! Flossing has been pretty alright lately. I can tell that my teeth are moving even if it's only a little!

it's a good news...it seems that u've got use to the braces..flossing always a trouble for me..but after practising a lot..now it's a breeze~! For sure u've practised a lot also..Flossing has been pretty alright lately. I can tell that my teeth are moving even if it's only a little!

I'm happy with your excitement seeing the movement of your teeth...i'll wait for ur next entry..best of luck..=]
Alright, adjustment #1 is tomorrow at 10am. I'm not too sure what to expect.. I plan on reading some of the other posts to find out though. I believe that I'll probably find out when I will get the lowers tomorrow as well. That may have to wait another month before i'm told though....Hopefully not. I took some pictures to track my progress and I believe that i can tell quite a bit of movement. I have some yucky stuff on the back of my teeth. I'm not sure what it is and I didn't notice it until I took the pictures. I tried scrubbing it off and it didn't work. Maybe one of you guys have an idea. I have an appointment to get a cleaning in August but I think i'm going to make one for a little bit sooner than that.
My boyfriend noticed a bit of a gap forming! That's good news if you ask me! He's been sooo supportive. When my teeth have been especially sore, he makes me softer foods...*I don't cook*...
Anyway, here's the pics! Pardon the yucky backsides!

Thanks guys! I just got back from my first adjustment and it went pretty well. My ortho is please with the progress. She says 1 more month and i can get rid of my bite plate! She will be putting a .16 niti in next adjustment on the 25th of may. We'll discuss the lowers then. she kept the same .14 niti this time and added a couple of wire ties to each of my Canines (The pointy ones. .. it think that's the right term and where she put them!) she covered them with ligs so you cant really see them. here's a pic!

sorry guys!
Platinum- I forgot to answer your question...my teeth have been a bit sore. the front two mostly...but it's getting much better...the only thing i have noticed new is that the front left (pics right) has been ultra sensitive to cold lately...
I have noticed the gaps getting a bit larger i think....i'll post before pics to see if you guys notice it or if it's just my imagination...also if i'm not mistaken..that lateral (i think that's the right term on the left side) has come down a little more as well
1wk after first adjustment...

day of first adjustment

great pics,lea!thanks for sharing them..
anyway best of luck,lea..later put your pictures,so that we can ensure whether the gaps are larger for real or it 's just your imagination thanks..=]

i use mouth rinse containing potassium nitrate..it helps a lot for me..it reduces the sensitivity to coldness and hotness..you should try!the only thing i have noticed new is that the front left (pics right) has been ultra sensitive to cold lately...

I put some pics up from the beginning to show the newer folks how quickly teeth can get into a better alignment.

Well, it's time to go outside and enjoy this gorgeous Indiana weather!
