Patricia!
... and the journey begins..
Sorry to hear about your dry socket.. I hope it's not hurting anymore!
Your braces look great! Your smile is going to be beautiful!
I haven't bothered to keep looking for progress. I'm trying to forget about it so that one day I look and am like "wow.. look at that!" haha!
Isn't it so interesting seeing people's reaction! It's kind of fun! Hahah
Anyways! Way to go!

HI ALL!!! Well, yesterday I drank my lunch, today I managed to eat solids, although eggs and hashbrown arn't that hard to chew, it still hurts.
I went to my surgeon for my last appt for my dry socket. I think my first "braced" days are going much worse than they should have because of it. The best part of not having to go back to him is the strips of medicine he put into the hole were my tooth was, Clove and medicine flavored, yuck!!
Yes its was as bad as it sounds! But no more, except for the paste he injected today.
Hi Marley!!! I think I am too impatient to not look, but time is all we have!!

Victor, I'm not sure when my canine is supposed to be braced. In 2 months my ortho will be placing a spring to push out the two teeth next to it and make room, then he will bring it down!!!!
Thanks Linda, I figured since i am paying so much for them I might as well have fun. I have been asked by some people why I got colors and if they had them they would try to hide them, I just ask them why? I'm proud that I am doing something for ME (finally)
Joney, I really can't wait for day 7 or 8, I guess i have a couple of years to get used to the pain.
Denise, if only they could put letters in my teeth I wouldn't have to.
I have to get used to the stares. I had chese and broccoli soup yesterday and was so paranoid that people were looking at a piece even though I brushed.
Well, I hope everyone has a great weekend, take care.
Patricia

Hi all!!
I had my first adjustment yesterday and no problems. I did have all this gooey stringy stuff that they said was skin from my cheeks healing. It made me little queezy but they said that was normal for some people. They said i did very good with my flossing and brushing since my ligs were hardly even stained, although i didn't get to floss last night my bottoms were too tender. Today my uppers are fine it's my lowers that are killing me. Does that just mean that my bottoms are moving faster then my upppers?
I don't see any movement but i haven't taken any comparison pics yet (will post tonight). I didn't have the courage to do the bright neon colors like the assistant wanted me to but i think maybe next month. I will also have a spring put in to start making room for my lazy canine.
I am so excited for this. Does the spring really hurt? I can only imagine that it would but obviously don't know first hand.
This month it was metalics, THIS but darker colors.

Finally got a chance to upload a picture of my first adjustment. So far I don't feel a change in my bite or see any major difference. Maybe this is the month for visible movement.
Thanks Karen, Ken, Sifumacho and Linda!! Thankfully I only had pain the day after my adjustment. Now all is normal. NO SORES!!!!! Well, other than my lip, I have no idea how but i niked it with my braces at night and woke up with a sore on my bottom lip. I dont think it was my grinding because it is pretty small.
Only three more weeks until I get a spring!!! So here is my pic, btw I did get a new wire only, it was the same as before and my colors are metalic green and blue.
This is my first day in braces

This is my First adjustment

It looks like my top left side is coming in more but, it might just be the angle of the camera. Sorry for the fuzzy pic (I tried to take a better one, but the camera wasn't willing)

Thanks Granola and Linda, I like the ligs too, but I think I'm going back to the brighter colors next time. My lip has healed but yesterday I smacked my gums with my tooth brush and have a sore right at the crease of my gums and lip.
Meryatan, you are right I have been staring at my "before" pics and I can see a difference, not huge but there is a difference. I did notice that my bite is slightly different as well. My molars don't seem to "fit" in their "normal" spots. YAY!!!!
