Here's a little bit about myself before I get started...I'm 24 years old and married with a 2 year old daughter. I've needed braces for as long as I could remember.I've needed them ever since my darned snaggle tooth came out when I was about 12 years old. I was raised by a single mother who put me through private school...so as far as braces went, we just couldn't afford them! I planned on getting them a few years ago, but I soon found out I was pregnant and all my money saved went to her..
So a couple of months ago I decided that it was now or never to get braced. You see my hubby is in the military and we have to move around every 3 years or so...and I'd like to stay put in one place to get my treatment done!
For years I've hidden my smile with my hand or smiled with my mouth closed. I learned the usual tricks, how to smile for the camera and at what angle..or else I'd have a horrible shadow cast on my teeth. I've been so good at keeping my mouth closed that my hubby's commented that I look mean all the time...probably from my lack of spontaneous smiling! How sad is that? I was actually embarrassed at bringing up the subject of getting braces to my him. I'm a SAHM and part time student and he is the only one who gets paid. I'm not covered for any orthodontic treatment and we'll be paying for everything ourselves. When I asked him what he thought, he was more than happy to help...he actually said "I'll give you anything you need to get your perfect smile!" Phew...

Well I've included some pictures of my teeth. (gawd I hope they aren't too big!) I've moved past the embarrassment of my problems since I know they'll soon be fixed. I'm not going to go into details. I think the pictures definitely speak for themselves....
I'll be getting four pre-molars extracted in the next month. In the beginning of May I'll be getting spacers and a week after that I'll be getting my braces on...finally!
Thanks for taking the time to read...I'm looking forward to my (eventual) transformation!
