What did your ortho "give" you?

Love your electric toothbrush? Hate that yucky mouthwash? Can't live without that terrific threader floss? Got a fave canker sore remedy? Here's where you can post your opinions and reviews of specific products relating to dental hygiene and your braces. Tell others what works....and what doesn't!

Wow! I feel stiffed by my ortho just reading at the goodies some of you received! All I got was a proxy brush, a pack of five floss threaders, a box of wax, two plaque disclosing tables, a pack of sugar-free bubble gum, and a list of do's and dont's in a plastic bag! Argh!

I was pleasantly surprised by what my ortho gave me:
- oral B electric toothbrush
- mouthwash
- two little containers of dental wax
- big tube of toothpaste
- travel size tube of toothpaste
- travel size toothbrush
- oral B super floss
- 3 laminated oral care instruction cards
- and a toiletries bag to carry it all in

I think I got spoiled! 8)

I am MAD jealous. Next visit, I'm telling my orthodontist she needs to step up her freebie game.

I got my braces on this morning.

I got
-a handy little bag to carry my bits and bobs in
-a big bottle of mouthwash
-a travel sized bottle of mouthwash
-big tube of Crest toothpaste
- 5 travel sized tubes of Crest toothpaste
- Two travel toothbrushes
- 10 (yes, 10) containers of wax
- a very handy little mirror. It looks like a pin badge but has a mirror on the back and a picture of brackets on the front. This will be very useful I think!
- Lots of interdental brushes. Lots. Three bags full. I bought loads too so I'm set till I get my braces off I think haha
- a little egg timer (two minutes obviously!)
- a magnetic sheet for my fridge telling me what to eat and not to eat
- another sheet with what to do in an emergency
- a greeting card that says congratulations and inside has email addresses for me to reach someone on the weekend in an emergency so that's nice.

I think I did quite well considering I'm in the UK! (Not NHS though so maybe that's why, I'm paying enough haha).

I forgot to mention I also got some applesauce. The mac n cheese was too funny! But it came in handy. I ate it that weekend since I couldn't chew anything else.

The picture is the cherry on top right? At least they gave you the Sonicare. Maybe that's their tactic to get patients to be compliant..."Here's a free, super cool and expensive toothbrush. Use it or else you'll look like this!" And while they say that, they're holding the creepy picture in front of their teeth with super crazy eyes...

I aint gonna lie. That picture scared the crap outta me! lol But I do really love the Sonicare toothbrush. It cleans so much better than my Oral B electric toothbrush. I think their ploy is to create a new Sonicare customer. It worked!

My haul was a little different because of Invisalign.

I got:
The two Invisalign retainer cases (red and blue)
My first three sets of aligners
A slim compact travel case that can hold the aligners, along with travel size toothpaste and a brush (last two items were in the case)
Two bags of those lovely chewies
Instructions for how to insert and remove along with what not to do

And that's basically it. Did not get a coupon payment book but will definitely be getting a bill
The problems:
Lower crowding, a slightly rotated upper canine and a deep bite

Invisalign G5 started Oct 12, 2015
Attachments: 21
Total number of trays: 28 upper, 38 lower
Estimated treatment time: 18 months

I got hardly anything!

I got one piece of threader floss, one pink tepe brush and one box of wax!
No joke! Not even a box of floss, just one piece!!
Thankfully I had read lots of posts on here about what I would need and had already bought my own kit.
