Just bought a water pik and have a question

Love your electric toothbrush? Hate that yucky mouthwash? Can't live without that terrific threader floss? Got a fave canker sore remedy? Here's where you can post your opinions and reviews of specific products relating to dental hygiene and your braces. Tell others what works....and what doesn't!

Just bought a water pik and have a question

Hi all. :) Ok, so I've gotten a water pick. Now, how do I use it without making a huge mess??

Personally, I start with the back teeth running the pick over each one of them with my mouth clenched really tightly with a small opening almost like I'm going to blow a bubble (that way the water just eases out of my mouth) all while bent over the bathroom sink. May sound like a lot of work but I don't have a huge mess when I'm done!

Thank you. :)

And you really like yours? I'm hoping I love it as much as many of the people here.

Thanks. :)

I'm sure that i'll love it once i get used to it. I bought it because I have a few trouble spots along the gumline. Some of my brackets are super close to my gums and a brush doesn't always get to it, and I have a Sonicare! I like the clean feeling i get using the pik, so I'm sure I will love it. :)
