Am I ready to take my braces off? Will retainers help?

If you have finished with your orthodontic treatment and are wearing retainers (or will be soon), this is a special place to connect with others in your (enviable) situation. Ask a question or make a comment about life post-braces.

Am I ready to take my braces off? Will retainers help?

#1 Post by justanotherbraceface »

My ortho said previously that I would get my braces off in March, which is two years from when I first got my braces. But I went to get checked up yesterday and was told that I could get my braces off sooner (as in I could've gotten them off had I had the time yesterday). I don't think they're ready to come off.. it's been scheduled to go off in two weeks and I don't know if they're ready to be off just yet. I think they can get a couple more months in. What do you think? Will retainers help fix the teeth a little straighter?

It will be fine to remove your Braces off. But make sure you use retainers. Usually people have a habit not to use retainers which will have adverse effect.
